I've said a time or two, I'm biased, being a Marshall alum. I'm thrilled to see my pro team and my college team connect.

This isn't, incidentally, the first Marshall player in recent memory to get to wear the star... we signed UDFA Ryan Yurachek, an H-back and special teams asset a couple or three years ago, and he got on the field a bit.

Nor will Ball be the only Marshall player to be going to Oxnard--some may have noticed that RB Brenden Knox signed up as a UFDA.

Pretty sure tho that Ball is the first Son of Marshall drafted by Big D.

Getting him where we did was a good pick up. Can be groomed to replace Tyron. Rather is is in 2022 or 2023. He has time to learn. And I am sure he will get some playing time anyway. Even if for a few plays here and there.

Yeah, I am happy he is on the team. Looks pretty good in the highlight reel I saw. Some say he is a 2nd round talent.

Took a quick look at my crystal ball and he will be the starter next year since either or both Collins and Tyron Smith are gone. Hope he is as good a pick as Flozell Adams was.

I think teams regret passing on him.

yes - this was a no brainer. Getting 2nd round talent in the 4th round. He could end up being the starter in Dallas for years to come. There was never any questions about his ability to play football.

As for the charter issues. I cant go there. He was what 18 or 19? If someone doesn't deserve a 2nd chance when they are still pretty much a kid when it happen then who deserves a 2nd chance? There hasnt been any issues since - he said he learned from it .
Great post

Taking a chance on a guy with day 2 talent late in the draft could be a huge win. And if not then it's not like most guys picked this late make it far anyway.

as many rejections as this is he remins me of Doug Free with longer arms maybe that his comp and floor that would be great..im betting looking at his frame and the way he played in college he could easily be better then Knight or steele..

may not be popular pick but he looks like NFL Tackle..

People forget that they were young and dumb at one time as well. We all were and have all probably done things we would never do again. Most of us learned from them and became better because of that. I’m willing to give anyone a chance to prove that they’ve done the same. We added some nastiness on the defense as well as the offense. Let’s see how it plays out before crapping on them before they even have a chance to prove themselves.

Not really, but just hope he's learned and matured in that way.

That being said, hope he pans out as a tackle here.

I thought his highlights looked really good. Looks like he has quick feet, which is usually what is missing from these really tall tackles after the first round.
