Apparently, you are that very individual.

This team will never be built as a Super Bowl contender under this ownership and their "team building philosophy". The lack of regard for the head coach position is a significant part of that problem.

You may want to brush up on your ability to evaluate before you cast aspersions at others.
Dude, you started this strange little insult fest, and now you're crying about it when it comes back at you. How about you grow up and allow others to have their thoughts and feelings?

And you completely contradicted yourself in your 2nd sentence. You admit we're not going anywhere as constructed, but then you start complaining about the coach. If we're not going anywhere, why does hiring Schotty matter? u

Brush up on your thinking ability as well as your ability to be polite and respectful.

The bigger point is why aren’t we interested in the more sought after up and coming coaches pursued by other teams.
Oh, that's easy. They were not about to come here. This is a dumpster fire and everyone knows it. Schotty is nothing more than the sacrificial lamb that Jerry can blame for the upcoming unsuccessful seasons.

It might simply be that everyone (except Schottenheimer) that Jerry asked first to coach told him to pound sand. Schott was the only one desperate enough to say yes.

What sane coach with actual prospects would actually want to work under Jerry? That's an albatross around the neck no HC has been able to overcome since the dynasty team. Was Schott a good choice? Probably not, but either 1) Anyone good said no, or 2) It was all about making the epic playoff choker Dak and also Jerry "comfortable" (or both).

Maybe Jerry just doesn't care anymore and doesn't find it fun anymore. He knows he can't get it done, but his ego won't allow him to step down and prove his critics right. So after the GB loss, he decided to torpedo things He'd rather focus on being a celebrity with his own radio show, booking engagements for his Stajum, and making money that actually working to produce wins.

People can say whatever they want about what Jerry says he wants. It's about matching those words to actual actions taken though. Actions speak louder than words.

Not happy but I'll still support him and wish for a good season.

I voted No, because I'm not happy. Though, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm unhappy. I really don't know that much about BM. I certainly have no idea about his personality or his ability to lead and manage a group of athletes. So, I'll give him a chance.

However, I am definitely not at all excited about it either.

Oh here we have another stupid Pole to capitalize on everyone's unrest after what seems to be a lazy lackluster hire for the head coaching spot on our favorite team.

It's really great when the fan base is at a serious low point we have some data collector that just wants to pour salt in the wound by giving us a pole to take on how miserable we are with the latest coaching hire
Well hey I guess the world needs somebody to compile useless statistics on the current feelings of the Cowboys fan base.
As if things aren't bad enough we got to have someone whose job it is to just tear the scab off the sore and poll us on how hopeless and disheartened we feel.

That's not the point though. You specifically said we aren't able to get the more sought after coaches because they aren't interested in coming here. I just want to know where this information is coming from. So I'll ask again. Of the coaches who were available, which ones turned us down? Declined our interview requests? Were offered a job and turned it down? McCarthy is the only other one we seemed to negotiate with and, last I heard, still is unemployed.

I guess you don’t get it or refused to. We simply aren’t attracting or pursuing the more sought after HC’s. You’re focusing on rebutting one statement instead of grasping the overall thought.

And to answer your question ; since we aren’t attracting or pursuing those candidates none are turning our offers which we don’t allow, down.

The question I have for you is why aren’t we pursuing or attracting these other candidates ?

Not happy, but the problem isn't with Schottenheimer. The contrarian in me actually wants him to succeed more knowing how many people hate him.

The problem is, he won't have a chance to succeed under Jerry's bizarro management structure.

If they made an honest, serious evaluation and truly thought this guy had something -- they liked his leadership abilities, thought the players would respond to him etc. -- and decided to make an unpopular hire, I could get behind that. But that's not what happened. They went for the cheap, easy hire who made the QB happy and who would know his place in the organization.

Maybe the worst part is, we already know they're going to cheap out on assistant coaches and future free agents, just like this year. Ben Johnson or Deion or whichever coach you like wouldn't have a chance under those circumstances, either.

A real snooze. Jerry got his twofer though, and that is what counts. I thought maybe, just maybe, he'd put a crowbar in that wallet of his and make a splash instead of a thud.

The info has been all over. I mean, you gotta not be paying attention to not notice.

The top coaching candidates have been unavailable to us for some time.
