Jimmy won the college national championship at Miami without Jerry being anywhere in sight. The first coach to win the title at both the top college level and the Super Bowl.So are they gonna put on Jimmy’s, here lies the man who couldn’t do it without Jerry?
Seems I can remember him winning absolutely nothing with the Dolphins before taking the out that his wife made him quit and going to Fox!
He could die any day now.On my way home from work Thursday night I was listening to 105.3 The Fan and the hosts (I assume they weren't the ones Jerry threatened to fire) mentioned that Jerry was recently asked if he plans to remain the GM until the day he dies. Not surprisingly, he said that is exactly what he is going to do.
These hypotheticals and questions concerning whether or not we will forgive Jerry should he decide to step down are good for conversation, but the reality is they are a waste of time. Jerry will have to croak before any changes to the front office occur. Now, Jerry is 82 and that time might come at any moment, but the thought that he might hang on another 10 or 15 years isn't exactly good news for anyone clamoring for change.
Maybe we will get lucky and Jerry goes full blown Al Davis crazy before he kicks it. We're already laughing at the franchise along with the rest of the planet, maybe that could provide us a little more entertainment before the end comes.
I do not see signs of dementia in him. Jerry has rambled nonsensically for 30 years and I don't see it being much worse now than it always has been. Is he more forgetful? Sure, but that comes with age with or without dementia. Not really. The time for wondering has come and gone. I had already come to the conclusion he would not willingly relinquish his self-appointed position many, MANY years ago.
Now, the mental incompetency topic is worthy of discussion. It is something I have speculated on for almost as long. Do the DNA kids allow their sire to just be himself, after they receive a mental diagnosis of real, not made up, dementia?
People are faced with the situation every day. A loved one suffering from an illness diminishing their mental capacity. It is one of the hardest things for any living soul to do but smart families confront the problem and gain legal guardianship over their everyday affairs.
No matter how critical I am of Jones, I hope his family will never face that dilemma. My family did. It is hell.
That said, I am not really confident his children will do the right thing in a timely fashion. Maybe Eugenia Jones would...
Hmmm…She's still young to me and Ranching.
College isn’t the NFL, nor has Jerry had any involvement with it during either his time as an owner or Jimmy as a college coach so it’s irrelevant in’nit !Jimmy won the college national championship at Miami without Jerry being anywhere in sight. The first coach to win the title at both the top college level and the Super Bowl.
Next time you should do a little research before you open your mouth and confirm what many of us think about you.
Yeah you almost never see that.Hmmm…

Same holds true for you. I'm just saying. But it's the same for all of us. No matter our age or physical shape, that day will come sooner or later for each and every one of us.Maybe you'll go first and you won't need to worry about it, anymore...
