Literally the worst lineman I've ever seen play in the NFL.

I don't even think you really believe that. The Cowboys themselves have had some pretty bad lineman. You obviously hate this player but he is no where near the worst lineman in the league.

The Stealers dedicated their 2012 draft to the OL and what do they have to show for it right now?

Decastro is done for the year and who knows if his knee will ever be the same. And he wasn't even playing that well to begin with.

And in the 2nd rd, the Stealers took an OT who so far hasn't looked like much before getting injured.

I say forget dedicating your draft to a certain position and stay true to your board. You never know what your needs are going to be. The more better players you have, the more options you have. Try to cover your glaring holes in FA and go BPA in the draft.

I think he is improving as he goes along, not claiming him as a Pro Bowl player just a young guy taking on a big task and showing improvment as he moves forward

I'm sorry, but the offensive line still looks awful to me, and I commend Romo and Murray for succeeding in spite of its performance. David Arkin can actually snap the ball to the quarterback now, but he still doesn't look strong enough to hold up at center. The guards looked like they were getting pushed back into the pocket all night. Doug Free is a mess, and even Tyron Smith got beaten on the outside by Robert Quinn on a play early in the game. If the best thing you can say about the offensive line is that it'll be better when Phil Costa gets healthy, you've got a problem. At offensive line, I believe the Cowboys have a significant problem.

The Steelers used 3 of their 9 picks on offensive lineman and one of those was one of the last picks in the draft. So it sounds good, but not really reality.

They didn't dedicate the draft to anything but their value board, as they do every year.

From what I've seen so far, if the Cowboys were to cut Arkin today, numerous teams would try to get him and he would be on some team's 53-man roster. Not bad for the worst OL YOU ever saw.

Lowering the bar? I think many of us would like to have more seasoned OL with a proven track record but we don't we have some young guys out there busting their hump to get better and they are showing improvment, not to a all star level and at times make mistakes but this is what we have and some of us choose to support them not moan about what we don't have. Has nothing to do with any bars being lowered it is dealing with the reality of the situation.

Unless there is vast improvement from the line play, yes. Either those guys emerge or we have zero chance to contend. Those secondary players are completely irrelevant.

I think the fans who try be positive about yesterday's oline performance either have really lowered their standards or don't watch other nfl teams play. watch this broncos/niners preseason game and tell me our oline was decent after watching the broncos oline drive their men 3-4 yds down field on sweeps. my biggest issue with the oline is the crappy run blocking.

If I were Jerry, I'd be on the phone looking to trade a second round pick and a player for a pro bowl center.

This team can win it all now. But not with Arkin.

I wouldn't mind that at all...but, just where would they look for that probowl center? I doubt there are any teams with a pro bowl center that would go for that!

Winicki and others claimed the Gs played well. They didn't play well. They were just the chubby chicks surrounded by fatties last night. Hence my lowering the bar comment. Have the same level of play anywhere else on the field and nobody would be claiming they played well.

Even Tyron didn't play well. But he's the one guy I don't worry about.
