Now, you just have to convince Matt Millen of that.

Speak very slowly and take along some charts and pictures. Maybe he'll get it.
I figure a pop up book.

You think nobody else would give them a pick earlier than the 28th pick in the second round?

No, I definatly don't think that. I believe that teams would give up a 2nd round pick for him. I just think that a deal could be made with that 28th pick. If we were to give up the 28th pick for Williams, I would rather see us also get a 3rd round pick back from Detroit.

To be honest, I would really try and get a deal done with Miami and maybe Atlanta for there 2nd round picks. I would try to trade both of our 1st round picks, #22 (780 pts) and pick # 132 (124 pts) to Miami for there 32 (580 Pts) and there 57 (330 pts). I would trade our pick # 28 (660) and 60 (300) to Atlanta for 37 (530 pts) and 48 (420 pts).

Both of those trades would probably work out. Miami wants needs a QB an OT and an impact defensive player. This trade would allow them to take either Long (DT) or Long (OT) and not be forced to take Ryan, the QB earlier then they think he should go. Atlanta could take the QB they wanted or the DT Dorsey/OT Long depending on who's there. They could then come back and use the 2nd 1st round pick on the player they like most at 28 and still have 34 to pick up another player of need. What ever is there.

Same basic deal for Atlanta. They could take the OT, the impact defensive player or the QB they wanted and then come back and pick up the other player later in the first and the other early in the 2nd at 34.

For the Cowboys, we really don't need starters anywhere except at WR. We need quality depth at CB, RB, OG, ILB, WR, QB and possibly S. I would take Miami's 32, aquired through trade, and offer it to Detroit or Az for Roy Williams or Boldin. Whichever might be interested in trading. Essentially, it would be a number 1 pick because of NEs penalty, which is what Detroit and Az are asking for. That would allow the Cowboys to come out of this draft with a proven quality #2 WR and three 2nd round picks, in what I consider the strength of the draft to be, for us. If you look at our needs, specifically CB, RB, QB and WR, this draft is very deep at those positions. We are going to be able to find excellent depth at all of these position later in the draft. OG and ILB are typically not positions you draft in the 1st round so it is to our advantage to look later in the draft for these prospects. Safety, well, I don't really love this class for safeties so might we better to wait till next year for that player.

Most Cowboy fans probably would not like the idea of moving out of the 1st round but to me, it's better to try and position yourself in the 2nd as opposed to stay in the 1st and pick players that may not be worthy of that selection. JMO of course.

It's pretty much a pipe dream and will never happen but if I could have it any way I wanted, that is how I would try to work it.

what? is your point that you wanted him here since the beginning of last season? or that your friend has info that a kid who grew up in odessa wants to play for the Dallas cowboys? if so that's shocking! if not let me know what you were aiming for.

He's not just a kid from Odessa. He's the father of a child who lives in Odessa. From what I understand, that is the reason for all the commuting back and forth to Texas.

Yep, but you can see this because Roy Williams is not a threat to your McFadden predictions.

Wonder if Roy's met Booby Miles.
