We're not done yet, but we're treading water. Most likely looking at an 8-8 finish at best.

Not really surprised, we couldn't afford any injuries and we started the year with our offensive MVP and our starting CB inactive. The depth we brought in have all sucked balls.

The sad thing is we have the highest paid O and D-Coords in football and our defense is playing like little women while the offense is doing double reverses when they can't even complete a simple 10yard post against single coverage.

Dah well, can always look forward to beating ya'll after our bye week. ;)

not to mention millions for a designated pass rusher who cant rush the passer, a 30 million dollar safety who cant cover, millions for receivers who primarily can only get the ball on the screens and double reverses you mentioned, and a head coach who seems lost and who, when asked "coach, what do you do now?" can only say "we're all in this together, it starts with me, we've got lots of effort." although we did miss the "im sending tape to the league office about that call," this week...

wow. not too many talking about greg williams for head coach now.

up the creek without draft picks. and snyder's got all you guys paying for that mess - his version of fantasy football in dc.

I'am realistic, we lost to Oakland last year at home

it happens

I just gotta look at the team... Gibbs still here? of course, then we always got a chance to win the game

Yeah, 'cause Gibbs is ALMOST back to .500 in his second tour of duty with the Skins... LOL...

Uhhh Silverbear...psst. Our own Bill Parcells record is not exactly...stellar either.:

But folks it difficult to be really hard on the Commander fans. Remember the Campo years. About this time in the season we would look at the personnel and the coaches and realize that the season was already slipping away. We would be facing the grim reality that there was little talent and the only thing to look forward to was the draft...and that would be poorly done. Weary season followed by weary season...mired in mediocrity and angst. Forlorn hopes that maybe somehow things will turn around for Gibbs and Snyder and the rest of the woeful crew...but they never will.

I'm not jumping on the "Commanders are Done" bandwagon. Too many weapons and they can be very dangerous. Since I live here in Commanders country, I know almost as much about the Skins as I know about the Cowboys, Giants and Eagles. Trust me ...that dog still has teeth, and they are still alive and kicking.

However, I must say that they are currently playing like the 2005 Eagles team ...without the injuries (no disrespect SaT).

To make the playoffs they're going to have to go 8-2 against:

Oct 22 @Indianapolis
Nov 5 Dallas
Nov 12 @Philadelphia
Nov 19 @Tampa Bay
Nov 26 Carolina
Dec 3 Atlanta
Dec 10 Philadelphia
Dec 17 @New Orleans
Dec 24 @St. Louis
Dec 30 N.Y. Giants

Good luck.
Geez. I knew their last 6 games were brutal. Little did I realize that it's their last 10 games. This is going to be fun, here in the DC area...

Looking at their schedule they will have to work hard to win 4 more. that will only happen if their defense wakes up and Saunders stops trying to outsmart everyone and just use their strength which is run the ball and short passes with an occasional long throw to loosen up the D.

And have you heard me make any claims like "it'll be all right, we've got Parcells"??

Gibbs is a good coach, although a whiny one, but people tend to forget that Gibbs' success was in the pre-salary cap era where teams were built through the draft, where team players would stay together for a while, and consistency could be developed. Not to mention, two of his major successful seasons came in two strike years.

Also, Gibbs wasn't the personnel man. He left it to Beatherd to bring in the talent, who wasn't great, but was pretty decent to good. The 'Skins front office right now is just horrible.

Almost every intelligent 'Boys fan on this board said that trading away draft picks for players hasn't worked, and until it does (where the 'Skins organization seem to be the only team attempting to do this), their fans shouldn't be so certain that they have a chance at competing for a SB.

Danny boy thinks you can build a football organization the way companies are sometimes built up - from acquisitions. It may work in the corporate world if done right, but it has never been proven to work in the football world.

uh they started 3-0 last year. They actually looked good at the begining of last season. This season is just a mess.

Even thoguh Gibbs is known for having teams come on in the latter portios on the seaon, it might be too late by then

ok ok so it wasnt exactly in the beginning.. I dont follow foreskin history all that much
:lmao2:

they had a stretch after those first 3 wins where they were out of it and then they won like 5 in a row... the specifics were not my point.... reread the post

The Cowboys should get the credit for the Skins demise. Here's why:
a) they beat the Skins week 2
b) they embarrased and thrashed the lowly titans at their house
c)the titans have played inspired ball since that game
d)they defeat the Skins at their house.

Seems like a chain of events leading to an inevitable conclusion.
The Skins are drowning now thanks to the Cowboys.

And everything we said is pretty much fulfilled, isn't it? The prototype for success was continually pointed out to the Skins fans that littered the board with their boasting of sweeps and playoff victories (woo-hoo), and it was continually brushed off. No, no, no, they say.....this way will work - it's how Gibbs did it before. Ignoring the fact that no draft picks = no quality depth, which is annihilating them right now on the Dline and the secondary.

Shockingly, the most vocal of them have elected to no longer visit this fine board. Whatever happened to em? ;) Tough to be sooooo wrong, I guess.

-shawn springs out all year so far
-CP not 100% till week 4 or so
- Both DT's being off and on injured(having to start two rookies last week)
-Pierson Preilou out for the year

i mean, it definatly isnt as much as the Eagles of 05 faced, but the injuries to Pierson and Springs in our secondary really hurt us. I still think that if they were both 100%, our defense would be back to the way it looked the last two years

Waaaaa, Waaaaa. Your tune has changed to how your mighty Skns would win the Superbowl and roll over everyone to how your poor team is decimated by injuries.... See, if danny bot built through the draft you would have depth and no been crying like you are. This is what happens to teams who overly pay for position players. I am so glad your team is in the basement...

but when you all are sitting in the same place as us in January, then whats the story going to be for you?

You all arn't going anywhere fast. Although that win over the texans looked good(hell, it even let mark brunell look good), you all are in trouble with bledsoe at the helm. He single handedly threw the game away against Philly. And this is the guy you all are holding hope for for the rest of the season?

Actually, that was Pat Watkins - a fifth round rookie.(you know, from the draft :p:) We're hoping he improves. Fortunately, we have several contingency plans there.
