ARTICLE: Stick a fork in the 2006 Washington Commanders

the point isnt that you lost hte game, but that maybe next time, the team will actually capitalize on those mistakes.

You can keep blaming a helpless safety for the loss, because hell, its convienient right? But I seriously doubt that he will develop enough in one season to not cause a liability.

You all have a good team, but I would call them "so freaking good". O-line is still suspect, FS is a mess, and most importantly, the QB is gawd awful.

But keep hoping, because hell, isnt that what football is about.

I also doubt our rookie safety will continue to surrender 21 points per game.

I don't understand what's "convenient" about facts. But, whatever. Go cheer for your team of overpaid, underachieving, disfunctional "superstars". This Cowboys team is really, really good. I wouldn't expect you to know anything about that.

fs isn't a mess, watkins had a bad game. it happens. talk about safetys, where's sean taylor? o wait i think he's watching somebody run by him for a td right now!

if you look at ES, i actually started a thread over there ridiculing taylors play. So no need to preach to me

yo what superbowl did you guys win with that black dude as your qb?

bigbadroy;1098934 said:
:lmao: the 1987 they only played 1 less game. was that when they had replacement players? and which one did they win with the black dude who played qb for them?

It was the 1987 season they played games 4-6 with replacement players and the QB was Doug Williams.

They played 15 games (3) of those 15 games were by replacement players. So the ACTUAL Commanders only played (12) games.

:lmao2: Oh wow, I cant wait till january to hear your battle cry. I think I might have to start saving these as a reference point :lmao2:

That and it happens to be true, but don't let that fact get in your way.

Again, take a look at your own train-wreck before talking about someone else.

Watkins is a rookie and had 1 terrible game!

And yet both of the Commanders safeties absolutely suck!

Archuletta is a free agent bust and Sean Taylor is chasing behind someone in the end zone every week!?!?!?

And still you have the nerve to talk?

If Bledsoe is "gawd awful", what is Brunell?

Incapable maybe?

Feel free. This is a playoff team. We will make the playoffs. You can bank it.

Oh my. Now there is a dose of reality. Am I wrong in thinking that they could easily go 0-10 against those teams? Yikes.

C'mon....Troy Vincent isn't that bad.

Taylor's complete failure as a player this year has been funny to watch, though. :D

They always win a game or two that you wouldn't think they could (see Jax game) but realistically....its looking like something between a 5-11, 6-10, 7-9 type season.
You have to feel sorry for ole danny boy....:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:
or not :laugh2:
They could bring in 22 probowlers and go 0-16 and danny boy probably still would think he knows how to run a franchise.
Hopefully, the only thing we see of them this year is in the rear-view mirror as they plummet and implode.

you can keep talking about the Commanders all you want. Do I care? I have come to the realization that this team wont produce anything this year. Better to deal with it now than to keep getting mad about it every week. But in your case, I hope you all keep up the hope, just so it will be that much funnier when you come crashing down in the end.

since when are safeties supposed to cover man to man? there not. If RW was put man on man again plaxico, i garuntee that he would get burned 9 out of 10 times as well. The fact is, with the situation that our corners are in, ST is playing more like a corner than anything else.

Hah love this!

Washington Post said:
The Commanders are making another splash this season, signing Archuleta to the largest NFL contract ever for a safety. It's worth $30 million over six years with $10 million guaranteed.

On Taylor's contract

NFL.com said:
The contract also has escalators that can make the deal worth up to $40 million over six years, while the seventh year can be voided. The escalators are based on playing time, performance and Pro Bowl or All-Pro selections.

Down with the Commanders!

He couldn't handle Crayton, or any ofthe other WRs that have spanked him? It's too bad you weren't here til August, because within the litany of Williams/Taylor threads that litter the board, we got plenty of "Taylor covered Randy Moss 1 on 1". He's a free safety. They have to cover WRs - alot. Unfortunately, he's not a very good one. He'd probably be better served as a SS.

Still, I doubt that RW could do any better at covering these guys one on one that Taylor could. Safeties are built to cover 1 v 1.

And who cares what a couple people say? Im sure there are some flat out idiot cowboy fans on here that dont know what the hell they are talking about either

I get it.

The old "My team sucks and their season is over so all I've got is to root against the enemy" routine.

Doesn't somehow get you off the hook.

Fact is that our team still has hope.

Go rain on your own parade, not ours.

Your team is finished, ours isn't.

Your team has no hope, ours does.

Here's what I know - Roy is having an amazing year - Taylor is arguably playing worse than our fifth round rookie safety. And that's all right by me, since Williams' system relies so heavily on good safety play.

Walt Harris getting 3 int's in a game? That's gotta sting.:D

Waaaaa, Waaaaa. Your tune has changed to how your mighty Skns would win the Superbowl and roll over everyone to how your poor team is decimated by injuries.... See, if danny bot built through the draft you would have depth and no been crying like you are. This is what happens to teams who overly pay for position players. I am so glad your team is in the basement...

Are you in the right thread? Who's crying? And please find a post on here where someone said the Skins were Superbowl bound, I doubt you will.
