As exciting as this team is next year should be even better

Yeah, there wont be a single team looking for a hall of fame caliber QB next year. Freaking Bradford was traded for a first rd pick. Have you seen the trash the Jets are running out at QB?

I know Romo is a risk but I will bet there are teams interested. Could even be a bidding war.
I cannot believe people think we can trade Romo for anything worthwhile.

How much did Houston pay the Denver phenom?

One other thing about next year is the first place schedule we will be playing
You do know the only difference is two games right? Them games unless GB comes back are Det and Atl which aren't the hardest games ever.

Let's win #6 before we start talking dynasty. Lots of bad things can happen year to year.

no way we let go of romo. what if dak is just a flash in the pan? next year romo should be allowed to compete for the starting spot unless the superbowl was won.

Romo will be 37 and will have not played a significant amount of football for 2 years. I'm thinking if we could get a box of Twinkies we'll be good to go.

Richardson contract is up at the end of the season I thought. If that's the case you can't trade for him you would just sign him in FA.....

By the way if we got Eric Berry I would do the happy dance

Sure, if he plays like the Romo of 2014.

Favre got traded to the Jets for a conditional pick that turned into a 3rd rounder.

We'll probably get something similar.

Farve won a Superbowl and was a NFL ironman who never missed games

Not only should we be able to trade Romo for a defensive starter (Sheldon Richardson is my pick)
We will likely be in position to sign a significant FA for the first time in a while (Eric Berry is my choice)

Plus with a little luck Jaylon Smith will make his debut (Hopefully good as new)

Plus another draft while our draft gurus are firing on all cylinders.

These are exciting times to be a Cowboys fan and it should get even better. IMO

You can't say next year is better based on this year. A lot of factors (health, first place schedule, etc.) Enjoy this year and worry about 2017 in Feb.

Yeah, but that only affects 2 games. I'm not sure which NFC division we play next year. The corresponding place finishers as it stands right now are Seattle, Detroit, and Atlanta. We'll play one of them regardless of year end standings. Tampa is also tied with Atlanta at 7 - 5. Green Bay and Minnesota might be tougher match ups than the Lions. The Panthers could be a last place match up and bounce back to be very good next year. We never really know how it plays out until they get into next year.

Every season is unique, unfortunately there is very little carry over from year to year for most teams. I'll bet the Panthers ended last season feeling pretty good about 2016.
This. theoretically we look great on paper for years to come but the NFL has a way of extinguishing great teams from year to year. Contracts, chemistry, injury, key players themselves have off years. It just happens. What will be interesting is Daks progression from this year to next. I just hope 90% of our draft is on the defensive side of the ball.

The Patriots don't agree
