I'd like to see is draft this guy. Think he'd help our Dline tremendously. Could possibly even trade back a few spots and still get him.

2014 Season Overview and Stats: Usually the overused superlative "freak" is generally reserved for pass rushers and wide receivers, but when you watch A'Shawn Robinson running around out there on the field it's impossible to consider him anything other than a freak. Guys this big are not supposed to move this quick. Robinson has the measureables of a nose tackle, and does highlight there most often, however he has quicks and speed that most pass rushers are envious of. Cracking the rotation on Alabama's perennially loaded D-Line is no small feat, yet Robinson managed to do so as a true freshman. Not only did he play, but he actually led the entire team in 2013 with 5.5 sacks. His play didn't fall off in 2014 either as he anchored Bama's defense and rotated in at both the nose and five technique spots.

2015 Season Outlook: The stats Robinson puts up are a nice bonus, but when you watch him this fall you'll see he is the type of player who whether or not he finds the stat sheet impacts each and every play. Consuming a double team play in and play out, Robinson is impossible to be slowed one-on-one. Defensive lineman with his skill set are valued at an incredibly high level in the NFL, and if you're an NFL team who happens to run a 3-4 then that's even better. Look for Robinson to use his pure size, girth and strength to clog up the middle as a zero and one technique, then when Bama feels like getting frisky they kick him to the outside and unleash him on unsuspecting guards and tackles. Guys like Robinson don't come around very often, and when they do they're top ten, sometimes top five picks.

Excerpt
For the purposes of this article, the sixth of 10 installments in Bleacher Report’s series of the 2016 NFL draft’s preseason top prospects at each position, Robinson is being classified as a defensive tackle, the position he would play in a 4-3 defensive front. That said, a big part of his appeal is that he could also project as either a defensive end or nose tackle in a 3-4 alignment.

College Football's Best Interior Run Defender

Alabama’s defense allowed the fourth-lowest average of rushing yards per game in 2014, and the presence of Robinson up front was a big reason for that.

Listed at 6’4” and 312 pounds by Alabama’s official athletics website, Robinson exhibits an excellent combination of size and strength.

As NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiahpointed out in a tweet last week, Robinson consistently holds his ground at the point of attack.

Agree 100%. Would love to come out of the draft with either him or Billings.

from videos I have watched I like Robinson the best at DT but certainly wouldn't use #4 for him. If Dallas were to trade back he would be good choice.

He could be the ideal Marinelli 1-tech.

Boards have him around 14, but the' Boys may already have him valued higher than that.

Solid first round pick.

they dont value 1tech high at all,i would be shocked if we even draft one in the entire draft.I think they may bring in a FA like Fairely.

They used to say we don't draft Oline in the 1st.... Now we have one of the best Olines in the league w 3 1st rounders.

I would be fine with a proven FA like Fairly. But as indicated above, Robinson is a beast, and could be a cornerstone interior lineman.

if Marinelli can't see the interior of the defensive line is an illness that won't be cured with Nick Hayden maybe he needs to be shown the door.

we have been saying for the last 2 years, yet we havent used we only used a throwaway 7th RD pick on a 1tech DT,we cant stop the run in critical situation at all.I am hoping Stephen and Will Mclay have seen enough and draft a good DT.

Doesn't sound like he's strictly a 1-tech, though. He could play the nose for run purposes, but also stay in the game on passing downs.

I must admit I'm biased, though. I want a monster on the interior line that forces double-teams and can beat them with power and speed.

When Tampa was at it's best, it had Booger McFarland lined up next to Warren Sapp to create a formidable interior to go along with Rice on the outside.

I don't know where Robinson will end up being rated, but if he is top five, I'd have no problem with Dallas taking him.

If you want a monster on the interior line that forces double teams than A'Shawn Robinson is your guy. No one in the college ranks could consistently contain Robinson in the trenches one on one. Also Robinson has really dedicated himself to Saban's 4th quarter program going into his junior year and has lost some of his bad weight inthe process. I expect Robinson to have a monster game against Clemson Monday night and to put on a show during the NFL combine.... Top 5 pick and "should" be the first DL taken in this draft if GMs have done their homework
