I would be fine with a proven FA like Fairly. But as indicated above, Robinson is a beast, and could be a cornerstone interior lineman.
I actually would not mind a trade down scenario where we pick Robinson, and then trade back into the late first for Carson Wentz (assuming he has a really good senior bowl week).
even if he was a second round prospect, it may be worth trading up from #35 to get get him in the first just so we control his rights for another year.
Saw a mock that had him going to Dallas at #4 today. I laughed.
What has Fairley proven?
They used to say we don't draft Oline in the 1st.... Now we have one of the best Olines in the league w 3 1st rounders.
You just never know
Blue chip player for Auburn, where he won defensive SEC POY, Lombardi Award, and BCS Nat'l Champ defensive MVP, in 2010 season.
He's been injury prone, so medical eval would be important. Played well alongside Suh in Detroit before injured. 27 yo.
Doesn't sound like he's strictly a 1-tech, though. He could play the nose for run purposes, but also stay in the game on passing downs.
I must admit I'm biased, though. I want a monster on the interior line that forces double-teams and can beat them with power and speed.
When Tampa was at it's best, it had Booger McFarland lined up next to Warren Sapp to create a formidable interior to go along with Rice on the outside.
I don't know where Robinson will end up being rated, but if he is top five, I'd have no problem with Dallas taking him.
So, again, I ask, "What has Fairley proven?"
Same question asked last year about D-Mac.

Meh....
These DT's don't have the impact on the game as other positions.
Aaron Donald is a beast right? Suh? Fletcher Cox?
These guys are all "beast" ....so what does that do for their teams defenses?
Let's take a look...
Eagles 30Th
Dolphins 25th
Rams 23rd....
This is a passing league. McFadden was the 4th best RB in the NFL this year and he broke 1000 yards in the last game. The top 5 RB's barely broke 1000 yards. The top 5 WR's are between 1450-1871 yards...
Pass on the fat boys and take some skill positions.
Robinson is an animal. He could have started on 20 NFL teams this year. One of the strongest players in the nation and also freakishly athletic. Not the sexy pick some want but I think he helps this team out IMMEDIATELY.
This reminds me of 2014 when we should have gotten our hands on Aaron Donald as our 3Tech of the future, let's not trade back too far and miss this gem.

You know we didn't trade back and he went before our pick, right?
I am aware we didn't trade back then, I was referring to the idea of trading back too far in '16. There was talk of us not needing to move up because he would fall to us and didn't.
