Ashton Jeanty was a JAG against Penn State

LOL. PSU is a very good team, especially defensively.

Jeanty was the #1 threat for BSU.
People can say he faced MW defenses, but it's not like he had SEC/Big Ten offensive/stacked future NFL linemen in front of him.
Still not a fan of drafting him, unless somehow this team wins week 18 and their draft position kicks them out of the top DL.

25 carries, 192 yards, 7.7 ypc 3 TDs against #1 seed Oregon

26 carries, 259 yards, 10 ypc, 4 TDs against WSU. Mountain west this year, PAC-12 last year

32 carries, 209 yards, 6.5 ypc, 1 TD against #20 UNLV

30 carries, 109 yds, 3.5 ypc against the #4 defense in the country behind a mountain west line

374 carries, 2,601yards, 7.0 ypc, 29 TDs on the year, second most ever in a season.

Don't get carried away trying to analyze a single game when there's a season worth of film showing the kid is a great running back.
 :clap:Many fans fall into this trap......

I don't think weighting how he did against defenses that aren't loaded with future insurance salesmen is getting "carried away." His performance against PSU was a disaster. He also fumbled twice. Did you watch the game? It was a nightmare performance that is absolutely going to impact his draft stock. That's just how the world works. I'm sure he's still going in round 1, but probably closer to 20 than 10.

Do not want a RB in first rd but definitely would take Jeanty over Skattebo.

Jeanty is only 5'9" at best. He also runs a 4.42 40. Good speed but not blazing fast. He can dominate against lesser talented defenses, but we all saw him get stopped by a far bigger and more talented defense yesterday.
You also said Dowdle is a legit number 1.

While I don’t want Jeanty that high the kid is a star.

What you saw is what happens when your RB is your entire offense. Can't pass so the opponent just loads up the box and stops the run. Cowboys should be familiar with this from the Zeke years with Dak as QB.

Agreed. I didnt watch much of that game live, but going back and rewatching it looks like Jeanty was hit in the backfield nearly every play. What we saw from that game was essentially Saquan Barkley running behind the Giants OL last year where he averaged 3.9YPC compared to going to Philly and averaging 5.8YPC. No one hated on Saquon last year because his averages werent where you want them to be...it was still pretty clear that he was among the best RBs in the league. No different with Jeanty. The fumbles would be a bigger concern to me, but from the tape it looks like he just got caught carrying that ball a little low and Penn State was punching at it all night. Thats something NFL defenses will absolutely try to expose, but also something NFL coaches will probably be confident they can fix.

He blew the doors off of an Oregon team that had what was considered one of the best defenses in the country this year.

He was hit in the backfield of at the line of scrimmage nearly every play against Penn State, and still forced 17 missed tackles which is incredible.

Anyone thinking he’s no good based on a 33 touch, 123 scrimmage yard game against an opponent that completely overmatched his blocking is crazy.

He will go in the top 10.

Oregons defense wasn't even in the ballpark of being "one of the best in the country" even before OSU took them to the woodshed. They ranked 66th nationally in defense.

Jeanty is a talent. He's going in round one for sure. BUT, don't tell me his stats aren't inflated by playing in the Mountain West.

you have no cred since you think the SEC is virtually a professional league of its own
EVERY SINGLE DRAFT SITE has Jeanty the top RB in the nation
so that makes your claims total horse crap
