Crazy to think an MLB player adjusted to an off speed pitch. Didn’t think anyone had that ability.

That is what make really good hitters. Really good guys could stop their swing, change their swing mid swing. Its not that hard to stop a swing changing one is tough and most hitters that do it in hopes of fouling it off not necessarily putting it into play.

I did, and I still do. Hitters cannot change their swing in mid swing. Sorry, doesn't work that way.

Maybe, maybe not. Pitchers were better back in the day because they threw every day. Not as specialized but stronger, better IMO.

The best hitters in the game are not any of the ones you mention above. Certainly great hitters but not better then Ted Williams or Tye Cobb or Rogers Hornsby etc. Certainly it's subjective but at least statistically, they were better then, then now.

If a starter can only bring his best stuff for 5-7 innings and then your hitters have to see 4-5 pitchers the rest of the way who are at 100%. Whereas a good pitcher back int he day may have to 8 or 9 even if they are being shelled or tired. But also believe modern MLB stadiums are band boxes compared to old.

There is a lot of discussion around this. I can tell you this though, when pitchers threw every day, they were stronger longer. Their arms also came back sooner. You are absolutely right about the Ball Parks though.

Where did Beltran play prior to coming to the Astros? The Yankees for 2 1/2 seasons and half a season with the Rangers.

I'm a Yankees fan too, but there's no doubt in my mind the sign-stealing thing extended well beyond Houston and if MLB had the courage to investigate all teams there would no doubt be additional "eye-opening" revelations.

You know what's interesting, if this is as wide spread as many believe it might be, then MLB has know it's going on. So that begs the question, why haven't they done anything about it? What, I wonder is, what would happen to the long ball and the scoring in MLB if you stopped all of this? Makes you wonder a little bit.
