Chris Johnson a steal so far.

http://arizonasports.com/story/409084/cardinals-signing-of-chris-johnson-proving-to-be-a-big-steal/

"A comparison of running backs who switched teams this year:

Player (Team)___________ATT__Yards_Avg.TD
Chris Johnson (Arizona)____79__405___5.12
Frank Gore (Indy)_________76__325___4.33
DeAngelo Williams (Pitt)____49__231___4.73
Ryan Mathews (Philly)_____41__205___5.02
LeSean McCoy (Buffalo)___43__146___3.40
DeMarco Murray (Philly)___49__130___2.72
Darren McFadden (Dal)___37__129___3.51
Shane Vereen (NYG)_____25__101__4.00
C.J. Spiller (NO)_________9___13___.40

Sometimes you get what you pay for. And sometimes, not often, you get a lot more for your money. The Arizona Cardinals just purchased a car with a lot of miles on it on the cheap, but it runs great."

It is weird we didn't even kick the tires on CJ.

CJ was worthless in Buffalo. No feel for reading blocks. Is good with swing passes in the open field. They kept a 35 year old over him.

I think he meant Chris Johnson and not Spiller.

Some players are part of a RBBC (McFadden) while others have been functioning as a true lead RB (Chris Johnson).

Randle + McFadden 418 yards
Murray + Matthews 335

Randle + McFadden + Dunbar 485 (404 receiving)
Murray + Matthews + Sproles 442 (328 receiving)

And some running games, offenses, and overall teams are succeeding while others are failing.

I'll leave it to people to figure out which is which for themselves.

Suffice it to say that it's crystal clear that the Dallas Cowboys screwed up big time in not taking the opportunity to sign Chris Johnson when that had it.

How many AZ games have you watched?

So our RBBC is having more success than the Eagles 2 highly payed, highly vaunted RB's, that some of our fans want to cram down our throat.....ok...
And we don't have our QB or WR playing.....

I still believe using the method I prefer of bringing in several backs (at reasonable cost) and letting them sort it out would have been the way to go. Again, I don't fault Dallas for not paying a premium for Murray, but there are backs on this list who would not have cost an arm and a leg to at least take a look at instead of just relying on a backup, a failure and a specialty back.

If you're only looking at total yards, I guess you could see it that way. Matthews' 5.02 average is far above what any of our backs are producing.

Or maybe they want to bring up the fact that we had a golden opportunity in front of us and blew it? A truth that you and many others can't handle.

And that's some 'get out of jail free' card for every other failure? For you maybe.

Especially during the preseason when the guys you chose either showed little or weren't available at all. Can't use any sort of excuse where they had no idea.

Some people prefer to judge success or failure based on what is happening with the Cowboys.

Others like to convince themselves that their wife isn't that obese because the guy down the streets wife hasn't been seen out of her house in a while and rumor is the local handyman is recommending extra support beams in the room below hers Gilbert Grape style.........

I agree...it's one thing to let Murray walk...but have a real plan to replace him.
Instead we let 3 backs limp through preseason and camp without anyone needing to even prove what they had. Meanwhile we had a camp body playing with a separated shoulder that would more than likely be outperforming any of the backs on our roster today. (Gus).
