if a guy the cowboys like is still on the board? I would think at around pick 20 the boy's should start to consider trading up if say Earl Thomas or Iupati are still on the board.

Not sure how much it would cost and don't really care. If there's a player that they think can be an impact player sitting around 20 I say we go get him.

I don't. I would trade down, but not up.

Yeah not for Thomas or Iupati. Of course there are some prospects that you would trade up for. One of the top 3 OT or Berry falling past twenty would def have me on the phone.

There's enough value in rounds 2-5 that trading down wouldn't hurt.

I fully expect the Cowboys to trade out of the first round if Iupati is not there at #27. The only thing that would have me on the phone is if it got to 20 or 21 and a top offensive lineman (even Iupati) or someone like Eric Berry somehow was still on the board. The cost to move up a few spots based on the value chart would be minimal compared with getting the guy you want.

27.

Until then unplug the phone.

I disagree wholeheartedly..if the player I want does not go #1 overall..I am on the phones immediately

Smart thinking. Dont consider trading up at all for a couple of sweet prospects.

Even our plan B Pouncey is starting to climb and probably wont make it out of rd 1

I think there could be a big drop off at around 25ish. Where the best OL left could be Cambell and Charles Brown. And your best safety is Stafford Mays.

Id take Iupati over Cambell and a 4th

If Berry falls past 15 or Iupati falls past 20, I'd make phone calls.

Other than that, chill at 27. Don't trade down though.

I think a trade with NE is highly possible that only like 5 spots and its ahead of GB an Philly who might look at Iupati

with NE needing a DE I say Odrick is still there at 27

I'd trade down not up unless someone very unexpected fell to 20+. Earl Thomas is around 18 average draft position now. If he fell I'd be thinking that. Dez Bryant is another who would be great value in the 20s. In fact he has top ten talent IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fall into the 20s although I wouldn't be surprised to see him go higher either.

I wouldn't trade up... Honestly this draft has a lot of depth, no need. Teams at the top are praying someone calls.

It all comes down to how the draft plays out and how we have these players ranked.

I usually favor trading down and wouldn't be upset if we did. But I think we're a good candidate for a trade up. We have a strong roster, yet a real need for a top OL prospect. And we just traded down and went quantity in the previous draft. The worst thing you can do is stay pat and reach for a guy.

The one good thing about trading up is that you're taking control, being proactive instead of reactive.

Maybe Iupati is the guy we really want. Pick 20 rolls around with him on the board and were confident he's not making it to 27.

If there's really nobody else we like at 27 who fills a need, go get him. Provided the price is right. I think moving from 27 to 20 is worth a late 3rd. Now if someone wanted to hold us up for our 2nd, no deal.

This draft is too deep to trade up - I agree, if anything, trade down for more picks. Very hard to say until the draft is actually underway, but for this year, going in......trade down or sit still looks to be the way to go. Lots of talent to be had outside of the first round not to mention first through 5th round.

Every time we trade down it always bites us in the foot. Last year comes to mind when we traded from round2 all the way to the 3rd rd. Most of the later picks we recieved we ended up cutting anyways, or there barely hanging onto their jobs.

Manuel Johnson
DeAngelo Smith
Mike Mickens
Stephen Hodge
Michael Hamlin
Brandon and Jason Williams(more players come in equals less time to develope)

How about trading the 24 pick away for extra picks in 04? Well, the Rams got Jackson and we picked Jones, Rodgers,Peterman, Thorton, Spears(next year)etc. Still not even. Basically, we put our first round pick from 04 on loan until 05 and got some extra picks in 04.

I still remember us passing on Derrick Brooks to trade down and recieved Sherman Williams and Kendall Watkins.

We didnt have a first last year and trading back only enhances the chances of a bust. In addition, two years without picking in the first round is unheard of. This is one reason why we got into the mess we did in the late 90's.

We need a stud player so im all for trading up if hes there because I know what happens when we start getting cute. Only the time when everyone wanted Bradie Quinn and we got a kings ransome did things work out. We still had to trade up though to get Spencer and Jenkins. Remember that too we traded up, not down.

I don't care how deep the draft may be... Make a plan and stick to it. This is how Jerry gets in trouble, he trades down untiil nothing is left... Or he targets a player like Quincy!

I'm a believer in trading up when your team is good and trading down when they suck! But then again its Jerry, do you really want him trading up?

This is a guy who put a 2cd round tender on his love child!

Only if a guy like Berry, Bryant, Morgan, McClain, or Thomas falls past 20.

For the life of me, I don't see why some of you are always wanting to trade down to obtain more draft picks. We're a Super Bowl contender, not a rebuilding team. We don't need to draft 12 players just to end up getting rid of half of them. We don't have the roster spots. We need to draft guys that will contribute NOW. We need to draft some superior O linemen, maybe a safety, an ILB, and maybe a reciever. That's about it.
