And the reason the Patriots are champs and we were 1 and done, the Patriots rallied, tied the game on a 2 point conversion, their D didn't sit back, they applied pressure on Ryan, us a very similar scenario against GB we just sit back and let GB march into field goal range...hopefully our coaches were paying attention.

another thing is patriots top was 40:31 and Alanta 23:27 , that is why Atlanta was tired at the end, they couldnt hustle, and had slowed down.
That allowed the pats to move the ball.
NE 93 plays, 63 pass att,
Atlanta 46 plays, 23 att
They just wore down the atlanta defense. throw in the long halftime, and I think the falcons were tired and thought they had the game won
when they started 3rd qtr.

A saavy vet who, as Dak proved, could never overcome a mediocre defense.

i agree romo has had no defensive help in his career here in dallas. only in 09 we had a top 2 defense. and btw we lost to minn in playoffs w that defense and romo had a 66 passer rating.

anyway im not gona bash romo , i own two of his jerseys. but the organization has moved on. for better or worse. Dak is our Qb. and our loss vs packers was not on him. so im not worried about our future there.

how bout we do what we didnt do for romo? make defense better and give dak a decade and see if he takes us where romo never could "alone".

It's official. After tonight, Tom Brady is undoubtedly the greatest player in NFL history. Not only did he win his 5th ring, but the way he won it will go down as one of the most legendary performances in sports history.

Ton Brady is the absolute best. On the Mount Rushmore of sports, Basketball has Jordan, Hockey has Gretzky, Baseball has Ruth and now Football has Tom Brady.

I agree completely. Tom Brady is without question the greatest player in NFL history. His legacy was firmly cemented tonight. He now belongs in the pantheon of the immortals: Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Wayne Gretzky, and Tom Brady.

We lost because Garrett was OC and blew chunks.. We wasted those years 'training' Garrett while Romo actually had a defense good enough to get it done.

But back then everybody was blaming Wade and Camp Cupcake instead of Garrett.. Garrett couldn't even coach a running game..

The whole loss is on Kyle Shanahan..

Great counter. Not really, but that's what I expected. You have no answer to my previous post about the Falcons win probability pct. rising until they decided to run and 3rd and 1 and got the sack/fumble, then nosediving after getting sacked out of FG range.

It's wild watching when it's not your team but after that Julio catch ur like "well who doesn't run it twice and kick a FG"
You do that and (baring a blocked or missed short fg), you win the game. All you had to do was run. Worst case the Pats get the ball back with two minutes left and no timeouts. Why wouldn't you run it?

They also virtually abandoned Freeman the whole second half even in running situations..

This is Romo fumbling the snap territory. Norwood missing the kick stuff. Rousey getting KO'd by Holms. All the respect Atlanta got in January is out the window now.

I loved seeing Rousey get knocked out...both times.

Good lord they had an 8 pt lead with 4:40 left and the ball on the 22. Only way you lose there is a missed FG. Or have Shanahan or Linehan calling plays.

Can't you just see Zeke on the sideline next year in the same situation?

I mean even their formations were awful.. if your going to throw, do it from traditional drop back while their is some threat of the run.. they didn't even try and hit the flats on quick passes with the Pats playing aggressive..

The long hair DB on Atlants also played horrific defense in the last quarter.. the guy basically let Amendoka walk in to a TD..

All I ever hear is that it is the coaches job to put his players in a position to be successful.

I don't see how any one can watch that game from the 3rd and 1 with Atlanta up 19 points and come to the conclusion that the Falcons coaches gave their team the best shot to win.
