Ellis doing what he does best

There can't be any way he's back in Dallas at his current salary.

He has restructure or hit the road.

And he isn't an every down player anymore. His drop off last season was evident and I hope he saw that.

So Ellis says the team lacked chemistry and didn't gel?

LOL.

What's the tally now on guys who said 'nothing' was wrong and guys who said 'something' was wrong.

Anyone?

Please.

Why would anyone think that Greg would possess better knowledge of the mechanizations within the Cowboys locker room than certain posters on this board? [/sarcasm]

But he liked the way things were smelling just a little over a month ago.

Right.

And he is a part of the chemistry problem.

Always crying about PT and how Antony Spencer is breathing over his neck.

As always, winning teams happen to have great chemistry, and losing teams have terrible chemistry.

When have you ever heard a winning team come out and say, "By gosh we won in spite of our terrible team chemistry!"

Not gonna happen.

He needs to go: like yesterday. Please take Crayton with you Greg.

Didnt baltimore rave about their chemistry? And the titans too?

Having good chemistry doesnt mean the end result is always a superbowl win.

Its a sport, teams lose, even ones with good chemistry. The bad chemistry issue is just one more hurdle to giving yourself a chance to win.

Shame that Ellis is gone. He could have been one of the few guys who played his entire career here. Never would have thought that the guy whose game early in the career was all about staying with his assignment and playing solid team D would become the selfish player that he is now

Losers (like Greg Ellis) assemble in cliques and ***** and moan about the coaches and the system. Winners assemble as a team.

Where have I heard this before?

yep greg was crying when spencer was getting more playing time

and has anyone asked greg how come in one particular play, best i remember was the baltimore game, ball came in and taped him on the rear end to come out of the game in a substitution, greg refused

so hence we got a delay of penalty game due to greg refusing to come out when the coaches were having him substituted

I don't think Ellis whines during the season

remember how he was trying to fire up and inspire his D-mates during a game, and after?

I want him gone. I forgot about the Baltimore deal. What Ellis have, about 8 sacks? He played some better ball down the stretch after being absent for a long period of time, during the middle of the year.

Plus, he allegedly ran to Jerry Jones to complain about how he was being used. Didn't the Water Pistol, formerly known as Tank Johnson, go right with him?

I wonder if Spencer acting like an idiot saved Ellis. If Spencer played all the downs, like Ware, he would get some more sacks.

What is his cap number?

We will need a replacement (a third OLB), but I welcome it.

My concern with getting rid of Ellis means we then have to rely more on Spencer, who I don't think is all that reliable at this stage. Despite having three players who can physically rush the passer, the outside linebacker position worries me a great deal. Outside of DeMarcus, you have a whiner and an underperformer who was arrested this offseason.

Oh, and regarding Ellis, I'm waiting for the day he seriously says, "The problem with this team is we have too many guys who whine too much."

Exactly, and to think the year the Eagles had the worst team chemistry they made it to the Superbowl.

what was wrong with their chemistry in 04, it was the offseason heading into 05 and the 05 training camp where there nonsense started.

I'll agree that there's a lot of chicken-and-the-egg to team chemistry and how it relates to winning. And I certainly think there are teams whose players absolutely love each other and get along and all that stuff, yet can't win a lick.

But with that said, I don't think it's ever healthy to have the amount of in-fighting we did. I mean, we were in the thick of the playoff hunt, hovering around the 8-4 mark, and we had all sorts of frustrations being leaked to the media. The timing -- when we were actually surging -- tells me there ARE problems.

Yeah, the whining and moaning now is expected. We're sitting home and the Super Bowl is in a few days. But when we were playing our best football of the season on the cusp of what was supposed to be a big December run? That's not normal -- and certainly not something that can be brushed under the rug, IMO.
