I didn't even bother to listen. Greg needs to be gone today. His act is very, very tired.

My concern with getting rid of Ellis means we then have to rely more on Spencer, who I don't think is all that reliable at this stage. Despite having three players who can physically rush the passer, the outside linebacker position worries me a great deal. Outside of DeMarcus, you have a whiner and an underperformer who was arrested this offseason.

Oh, and regarding Ellis, I'm waiting for the day he seriously says, "The problem with this team is we have too many guys who whine too much."

He can be replaced. With players like Tyrone Mckenzie in the draft, you can fill those holes.

I want him gone. I forgot about the Baltimore deal. What Ellis have, about 8 sacks? He played some better ball down the stretch after being absent for a long period of time, during the middle of the year.

Plus, he allegedly ran to Jerry Jones to complain about how he was being used. Didn't the Water Pistol, formerly known as Tank Johnson, go right with him?

I wonder if Spencer acting like an idiot saved Ellis. If Spencer played all the downs, like Ware, he would get some more sacks.

What is his cap number?

We will need a replacement (a third OLB), but I welcome it.

I believe its 5.5 million..getting rid of Ellis and Henry clears up 10 mil!! Replace them via draft or get FA's like Angelo Crowell for depth and fairly cheap.

Ellis doing what he does best

There can't be any way he's back in Dallas at his current salary.

He has restructure or hit the road.

And he isn't an every down player anymore. His drop off last season was evident and I hope he saw that.

So Ellis says the team lacked chemistry and didn't gel?

LOL.

What's the tally now on guys who said 'nothing' was wrong and guys who said 'something' was wrong.

Anyone?

Ellis is indirectly putting things on the coaches. Saying 'things just didn't gel' and the issues apply 'top to bottom, more than just players'.

I don't think he thinks his play dropped off so much as he wasn't on the field as much and he thinks they had him dropping too much into coverage.

And he's not beefing about anything so much as trying to honestly answer the questions he's being asked. I don't agree with Greg, but it's hard to justify hating the guy in an interview like this.

Its a yearly thing with Ellis, and I too am sick of it. To quote Duane Johnson, Ellis needs to "shut his mouth, and know his role!"

I am impressed.

He lasted over a month before he started complaining about his role.

Without a doubt, the day Greg Ellis is gone as a leader on this football team, the sooner we can get to work. He is a progress stopper.

I agree 100%. Ellis has not won anything while he has been here, I am sure that he has developed a "loser" mentality since being here if he didn't have one to begin with. The whining is nauseating.

Didnt baltimore rave about their chemistry? And the titans too?

Having good chemistry doesnt mean the end result is always a superbowl win.

Its a sport, teams lose, even ones with good chemistry. The bad chemistry issue is just one more hurdle to giving yourself a chance to win.
Wrong measuring stick, I think. We judge success in the NFL in zero-sum terms so, yeah, Tennessee and Baltimore came up short. But the measuring stick on this should be relativity. Those are both good teams with good chemistry. Of course, that doesn't affect the chemistry/quality causation v. correlation issue.

As always, winning teams happen to have great chemistry, and losing teams have terrible chemistry.

When have you ever heard a winning team come out and say, "By gosh we won in spite of our terrible team chemistry!"

Not gonna happen.
Ehh, you've still got a causation v. correlation issue. Even if a team has bad chemistry becuase it's losing (rather than the reverse), perhaps it can't become a winning team without first improving its chemistry.

i dont hate greg, and i dont hate any of the dallas cowboys players.

But am i frustrated, angry, upset, yes!

The Dallas Cowboys have had the talent to win 2 superbowls,

The year they fell flat against the giants in the playoffs and last year.

I am telling you or at least trying to get you to see, some of these players could care less, all they want is money, stats, and pro bowl honors instead of like Jimmy Johnson said get your head in the game focus!

Bradie James did it last year, pouted when he didnt get pro bowl honors. OK, bradie james if you dont like it, show the fans, other teams, coaches that they will pay for not electing you the pro bowl, but instead of pouting, work harder, study more, care about winning a championship first.

Terrance Newman did it the year before, he was so totally focused on getting to the pro bowl, then winning a championship in Dallas.

Some of the players, when the game is totally out of whack and the cowboys are losing big time, what happens, some defensive players and offensive players, jump up and down when they get a big sack, pump their fists in the air or when they scrore a late TD.

Look at the score board dallas cowboy players, like in the giant cowboy game in new york, you got smoked, like in the phily game in phily you got smoked, or the ram game. When everyone of the dallas cowboys offensive linemen says that they played a terrible game against the cardinals, all except for Flozell Adams whom says, I played a pretty good game.

Come on Flozell, you played good in a game that because of your poor playing, one of those plays you let the defensive end around to sack romo, probably caused romo to get hurt, and you stand their and say, i played a pretty good game.

Or the players on the special teams in the arizona game, that let 2 to 3 cardinals through to block the punt and hurt McBrair, our best punter in dallas cowboys history. Just because some of you dallas cowboy players dont like to play on special teams. Thats the problem on this cowboys team, the ATTITUDE! The lack of want to, or no heart or fire, till your back is to the wall. Then, you will come out and play, just enough to keep the fans interested, and give them hope to keep your jobs.

Thats the problem on this team.

Yeah, what he said!

Maybe in 2010 (the uncapped year), Jerry can weed out this self proclaimed overpriced player attitude.

We need guys who fight together no matter what their vet status, salary, or score of the game is. Guys who have love/respect for the game and their teammates and put it all out on the field.

remember the rams game when jerry jones came into the locker room and had a tantrum and said;

i will find out who is giving 110 percent, and not giving their all and i guarantee you, you wont be on this team.

jerry jones hasnt done that yet

now lets point to guys that goofed up or didnt play right
I know that tony curtis was one player that let a cardinal player in to block the punt and hurt McBrair; later in another game, tony curtis was suppose to be on the field in a certain situation, and he didnt come into the game, Jason witten was livid with him, while witten was playing hurt

everyone knows brad johnson is too old to play QB but he is still on the team

proctor has misssed blocks right and left, but he is still on the team

tank johnson is still on the team, and he said, i am a free agent baby im out of here, but he is still on the roster;

the new punter is still on the team, and he had a terrible game in phily

now granted the punter has tried and you dont know about if mcbrair is ok

but why are these players still on the team that i mentioned?

oh yeah, we know greg ellis complains, gripes, moans and that goes back to the players so they will complain too,

yet greg is still on the team, why? granted you might be able to trade greg during the draft, but brad johnson you cant trade, tony curtis maybe or maybe not, the new punter maybe,

so was the owner jerry jones blowing hot air when he said, i will find out who is giving 100 percent and you wont be on the team?

In 1996 we went 10-6, won the NFC East and in the Wild Card round of the playoffs absolutely stomped the Vikings 40-15. We then lost in the Divisional round to the Panthers 26-17. That was our last post season win.

We missed the playoffs in 1997 and Jerry made my day by firing Barry Switzer.

1998 we passed on Randy Moss because of his baggage and drafted Ellis because he was supposedly a good guy. A team guy. Got Flozell Adams in the 2nd round. Looks like a decent draft and we won the NFC East again and went to the playoffs where we lost for the 2nd time in a row, and the next year for the 3rd time in a row and Gailey got canned. Parcells added 2 more losses, took his ball and went home. Wade adds the 6th straight post season loss.

I think Ellis is an albatross personally. We get rid of him we'll start winning again. I like the smell of that.

Joe, be honest with me, do you understand that Free Agency has not started yet and guys are still on the team because of that very fact? There is no need to waive Tank Johnson and Paulescu and other Free Agents just so it looks to you that the team is doing something.

Do you see the team offering Tank a deal to re-sign? If so, where?

Honestly man, you wring your hands about some very foolish things.
