Making blanket statement to that effect is exactly what you did. You claimed the Texans were "drecks" because, in part, they had only beaten the Bucs, the Jags, and the Titans. In essence, you argued Team A was bad because they'd only beaten Team B, Team C, and Team D. This is exactly the same kind of logic you're denouncing.

You can claim the supremacy of the "eyeball test" all you want (which is, for all intents and purposes, a fallacy of appeal to authority), but with a lack of substantive evidence, your assessment means little.

Fine.

All two win teams are created equal. Happy?

Campo never lost more than 4 in a row and he had freaking Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson at QB and Troy Hambrick at RB so dont even pretend that losing 6 in a row is excusable because of schedule.

Did I say that? Did I even imply it?

What I was saying is that if we had been fortunate enough to have one or two mutts on the schedule over the last six weeks we wouldn't be talking about a six game losing streak today.

Who are the mutts? Like they say, if you don't know, then YOU must be the mutt!

The theory thrown out by Babe sure makes sense. Maybe last year was the exception and not the rule. We basically went back to the style that we were able to win with Quincy Carter at quarterback Pound the ball with the run game and bend don't break on defense. It is a sound formula and works when you don't turn the ball over and you get turnovers of your own.

More than that, maybe it is a fact that we have overevaluated the talent we have. Tyron Smith looked like a chump the other night in pass protection minutes after Collinsworth called him the best Tackle in football. Sorry, but the best Tackle in football doesn't get beat like that. The best OL in football did a better job overall last week, but they have not been the best week in and week out. Throw in the senseless pre snap penalties we always seems to get to sabotage drives and there is definitely room for improvement, and that is supposed to be the number one strength of this team outside of Romo.

The WR's are mediocre at best outside of Bryant and Beasley, but even Beasley is limited in what he can do. The rest just haven't shown up at all. The TE's after Witten are MIA...should put a bolo out on them. Escobar the matchup nightmare? Give me a freaking break.

The RB's are average, nothing more and maybe a lot less than that. McFadden has been good since he became the starter but the others are question marks.

On defense, the only down lineman that has lived up to expectations is Hardy. The rest have been average at best. LB's have had a lot of injury issues, but McClain is awful and can't run at all. Lee is still Glass Joe and can't stay on the field, to the point that his career is in jeopardy. Hitchens seems to have a lot of injuries and the rest don't stand out.

The young corners have played decently. Claiborne, White and Patmon have at all times played at least average but there are a lot of routes that Carr physically can't handle any more. The safeties can't cover anyone outside of Jones. Wilcox still takes the worst angles of any safety I have seen.

Add all this up, and we literally have about 5 guys playing to their potential. That isn't good enough.

THis all goes without even mentioning the coaching staff, who repeatedly makes poor time management decisions and rarely seems able to scheme up some success. As many have said, Dallas' scheme makes you win more man on man matchups than the other other team does. Many other teams use their scheme to win. NE with their pick plays for example. They seem to be able to throw anyone on the field and still have success. Green Bay does the same with WR's. Our DC seems to be a one trick pony with no creativity at all, and our special teams coach just seems inept.

Will be interesting to see how much introspection occurs this offseason. Will they fool themselves into thinking it has just been the QB injury and not make changes, or will there be a huge turnover this offseason? I think it should be the latter, no need for guys like Free, Hayden, Carr, Lee, Hanna and McClain to be here next year. I would suggest that guys like WIlcox, Escobar, Street, Michael and a few others could be let go too, but because they are young and relatively cheap they are probably all back next year, at least for camp.
