Bad Season is Not Mike McCarthy's fault

There is plenty of blame to go around. The FO sat on their hands all offseason. But Mike has done a terrible job running the offense this season.

On top of that, Jerry paid a mediocre QB the highest ever paid to anyone in the NFL. Dak is never going to get us to the promise land. Our defense has been a sieve for years, what help did Jerry bring in? ZIP. We all hoped Zimmer might be able to improve the run defense, but it still is garbage due to lack of NFL talent.

It's not directly McCarthy's fault. It's Jerry's fault for bringing him back as a lame duck. You can't bring a coach back after the Green Bay meltdown. His team fell apart and as we can all see, they never recovered. That negative energy carried forward and we've seen a historically bad season at home. Not addressing the running game and depth along both lines was the last straw, but this team was DOA when the decision to keep Mike on board was made.

Jerry has always been the problem! He did one thing right, Jimmy Johnson, but blew it. We would have won 4 SB in a row .However, McCarthy is horrible! Time management, play calls, motivation before game or at half time, always takes the kickoff (even though we have a slow starting offense and are usually behind at half time. He never adjusts to anything until the next game. He doesn’t understand we have a bad o line so we should pass to set up the run. He is old and tired!

McCarthy and Schottenheimer’s offense absolutely sucks. JJ isn’t responsible for the continued penalties, sloppy execution, bad play calling, horrid fundamentals, lack of creativity, and poor preparation.

Schott's daddy offense swallowed. Cleveland, San Diego, and KC gagged on the experience of a Schottenheimer offense. So what did you expect when Schotty Does Dallas.

McCarthy is from the Schottenhiemer tree. Cut it down immediately.

I would put about 80% on the Jones’ & 20% on McCarthy. Yes the Jones’ have mismanaged the CAP & everything else by not bringing in players who can compete at a Championship level etc.
McCarthy deserves some blame, first by convincing Jerry to let Kellen Moore go because MCCARTHY wanted a little more ball control on offense! That was idiotic! How about just talk to the man! With that, he’s also the man calling the plays and developing this offense, which is pathetic! Good coaching and play design can hide a lot of weaknesses!

Jerry is 100 percent at fault for the lack of talent in this roster. However, McCarthy is 100 percent at fault for the lack of discipline, horrible effort, horrible game decisions and free fall this team is in. As others have said, he should have been fired after the Green Bay game.

When Bill Parcells took over the Cowboys in 2003, he turn a 5-11 team the previous year into a 10-6 team. You could see the change in effort all over the field. You can’t tell me McCarthy doesn’t share the blame here. This team looks poorly coached and lacks effort. Jerry isn’t exactly giving him the 93 Cowboys Roster, but this team is just awful and doesn’t properly utilize the talent it does have.

They’ve been undisciplined since year 1 with MM. He’s an atrocious in-game strategist when it comes to time management and when to take risks and when not to. And he runs an archaic offensive scheme. Yeah JJ gonna JJ but McCarthy is not a good NFL HC.

But this team was not prepared for an NFL season. It still makes multiple mental errors each game. It is sleepwalking with zero interest in winning.

MM is a top 10-15 coach in the league. IMO he’s the Dak of coaches. He’s not going to set the world on fire but you could do much worse than him. No coach would’ve won this year with the roster they were given. Add all the injuries and there was no hope.
