Bain v Downs

Yeah Downs is just too good. Probably the best football player in this draft. I would rather have Brian Dawkins than Brandon Graham. They both remind me of those two Eagles with their floors.
He is my only blue chip player in the entire class.

I would consider Bailey over him due to position but that is it.

I would almost always say take the passrusher but Downs is special…super versatile and if he’s another Ed Reed type…he changes the backend of your D. And I’m much more convinced that Downs will be a probowler than I am Bain, although I think he has that ceiling too.
Honestly, I’d be tempted to trade up from 20 and take them both.

Be careful of the Bain truthers they are lurking everywhere. For me the blue chippers are Love and Downs. Both could be All-Pro next season on the right team. McCoy if healthy is close to blue chip status as well. This is a bad draft to have two first round picks unfortunately.

look no further than the dynamic duo of Daron Bland and Trevon Diggs. They had int's falling out their a**'s until Michah took the pass rush with him to Green Bay. Now Diggs is gone and Bland is..well...bland.
And so what? What did the team win? What did the team accomplish? I laugh so hard at those that claim Micah was a one man team. Demarcus Ware was better in all ways then he is and what did this team do with his career?

Two of the greatest D line in NFL history, the Rams Fearsome Foursome and the Vikings Purple People Eaters never won a championship. Those thinking that a great pass rush is all you need are football fools

That depends on who you draft and what the football gods do with them.

Love is close but I do not think he is quite there to be blue chip but great prospect.

Your conclusion is not supported by the vast majority of draft sites
The term blue chipper gets thrown around way too casually IMO. I have a higher bar than most.

Love is not Saquon, Zeke, AP etc...

Correct: You've made my point. A menacing front seven is needed; not a dynamic secondary and a one man pass rush.

This may be the one situation where I get on the phone and try to move up from 20 to 13 and take both.

No Safety is going to be able to cover a top WR 1 on 1
THAT is what CBs are there for
why you should think that matters indicates a lack of football knowledge
This is exactly why you don't take a safety early.

I think Bain goes top 10 based on the hype. Mesidor will be the guy who falls. My only question about Mesidor is the fact that he played across from Bain so I'm not sure how good he will be in Dallas when he doesn't have that type of help. Give me Downs all day!!

You take a defensive line terror over any other position other than QB, when both are can't miss prospects.

The 1981 Cowboys DL in 1981 created 37 INT's. That is mind boggling. 6'9" Too Tall Jones, 6'7" John Dutton. 6'4" Randy White, 6'5" Harvey Martin. The opposing QB's could not see. That team should have gone to the Super Bowl and they would have won it. Bill Walsh outsmarted Tom Landry on the 49er 's last drive which culminated in The Catch. Joe Montana that day was sacked three times and threw three INT's.
I am a big fan of Bain but I would not call him a can't miss prospect. Downs is a potential superstar.

I’m a big fan of both players but I’d probably go with Bain.

Because the defensive front is so important (IMO), and he’s such a tone setter on the edge.

I wouldn’t complain with either though.
