Bands you don't like...

I am going to get slammed big time for this. But I have never been a HUGE fan of Led Zepplin. I don't hate them. But I dont understand why they are constantly voted as best rock band ever.

Because they are one of the most influential rock bands in rock history. I'm a huge LZ fan.

Myself, country music. Hate it, except for George Strait, George Jones, Meryl Haggard, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, and Walon Jennings. Basically, anyone that hit the scene after 1985.

Simply because they are. Actually up until a year or so ago I was beatin down by them. But I have re-discovered the greatness of Led Zeppelin.

Todays rock just doesn't do anything for me.

That being said, I don't like any of Plant and or Page's solo stuff.

Here comes the blasphemey...The Eagles - Similar to Lynrd Skynrd for me. Besides a couple songs I just don't care for them much. Which is odd as I liked Joe Walsh and Henley with their solo stuff.

Nirvana - like others I don't mind them, actually liked that first one, but for me AIC was much better and I actually liked Sound Garden much better as well.


About any of the teenage bubble gum bands of the last few years (boy bands or solo girls singing boring pre packaged bull).

Most nu-metal I have heard.

To me Lynyrd and Allman were about the same to me.

The Eagles - that is suprising... but we like who we like and we dont who we dont. They have a greatest hit album that has something like 19-20 hits.

Nirvana - I think they have two of the most powerful/raw songs of all time. In a Top 50 all time list of course... put those songs somewhere in the middle.

Duran Duran, Bay City Rollers, Milli Vanilli, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Gwar, The Bangles, Human League, Back Street Boys, 98 Degrees... and so on and so forth...the list is enormous.

I can find so many more bands/groups that were considerably more grating than Led Zeppelin or Nirvana.

Every pure screaming band, I cannot listen to it. IMO, it is not music when you are screaming and no one can understand a single word that you say.

I like ALL music except for that screaming stuff. But these are the artists that I cringe at.

Yeah but for the most part, those bands are not shoved down your throat like Zeppelin is. Most of those other bands went away and I've never heard Gwar on the radio. It's very easy to avoid them.

I really don't require hearing Zeppelin 5 times on two different radio stations during my 1 hour morning commute. I can't even listen to the radio anymore, its absolutley senseless.

I used to work with some guy who listened that screeching crap. I admit, I liked Slayer in my day, but my God, crap like Iced Earth and the other screeching garbage he played, made me want to murder him for playing it.

Now, where I work I have a co-worker with a radio...
It's Sugar-Gay and Shania Twain and some crappy Gwen Stefani song all day. All day. Repeated. The axe is being sharpened...

And here I thought this was just a local problem.

I USED to listen to a couple of stations here, and one was at a ribs burnoff I attended a few years back. I approached their setup and told them I loved their station, but that they play just too much Zeppelin.

Their response was, "You can never play too much Zeppelin."

So much for 'free' radio...I've gone Sirius and won't ever go back.

Speaking of musically inept bands: The Beatles. So freaking overrated and overhyped. I simply turn off the radio if any of their stuff comes on.

You want blasphemy? Try this: The Bee Gees were infinitely more talented than The Beatles, but one album doomed them to musical Hell.

I dont hate any bands or musicians really. I have a few bands that I love and just can not get enough of....E-street, VH, Bon Jovi, U2 and Pearl Jam.

I like almost a little bit of everything. I really love roy orbison and sam cooke and on the other end of the spectrum I really like NWA, Public Enemy, epmd etc. The only genre I dont listen to at all is country. I dont get it or understand it so I simply dont listen. I have nothing bad to say about it, I just dont get it. I do really enjoy Johnny cash and willie nelson though.

I am suprised so many people dislike U2. I love the all that you cant leave behind album. I listen to that all the time.

I have never listened to the death metal genre either, much like country I dont get it or understand it so I dont bother to listen.

Before I moved when I had My B&W Nautilus 803 and mcintosh amp and preamp I could be found listening to anything. madonna, springsteen, van morrison, whitney houston, dire straights etc....Whitney Houston's voice is incredible with good equipment. Same with orbison and sam cooke. Simply fabulous. I wish kept those stinking things. Someday I will buy them again. Hopefully soon!

Elvis (The King? hardly)
Beatles ( I like the Beatles...but they are overrated...great muscians...media made me sick of them )
Garth Brooks (not a country lover....but I didnt get all the hype with this guy)
