If Felix is 100%, why the hell is he getting 6 or 7 touches a game?

He is not 100%, and at this point his body can't handle many more touches than that in a game. If you go back and look at the first 2 games, he gets up rather gingerly every time he takes anything more than an average hit.

he's a competitor who wants to play. dont fault the guy. now if they actually let him, thats a whole another story. especially with the flexibility we have in felix and tash

Yeah, and he was fine to play last year when he was injured. Except he played like crap and we were too scared to put in a guy that ended up averaging over 5 yards per carry.

He never heard him once say he was fine last season. I heard Jerry call him out and then he started playing. Remember he actually did miss a game last season. If he says he's fine I believe him. We need him. Sure we're deep at running back but he's our best back and that hasn't changed. He says he's fine I believe him.

If they play him, they're idiots. They have two exceptional starting quality backs that are at 100%.

I think Marion knows his body better than anyone else. If he can play, he'll play. Plus, I don't think Marion is an idiot and would risk missing several games b/c of a lingerng injury if he didn't think he could go.

Yeah, I don't think Felix is 100%.

Choice is though, and I wouldn't mind giving him 10-15 carries.

It probably went something like this.

Wade: Barbarian, you are hurt. I dont want you to play the next game.
Barbarian: No, I think I will play coach.
Wade: Ok, buddy. You do what you want :)
Barbarian: Yeah, we know that around here.

Out.

It probably didn't.

I hope they dont rush him back, but in all honesty if he says he can go and in practice isnt showing signs that he is struggling or favoring the leg, then he should play.

That said, I suspect of whether he plays or not we'll see Jones and Choice get some of his carries.

sweet! thanks for posting cause I never knew about that website.

now get ready for all the people who want Barber to sit for this game

Didn't Barber lose some weight this off season? He looked faster to me on the run he hurt himself on. If he hadn't gone down he would have scored, and in years past seems he would have been run down. Looked like he was actually running away from the secondary who had the angle?

he most definetly scores on that play if he doesn't get hurt. I don't know how much weight he lost since he's still built like a brick house(see pic in my post on page 2) or if he's actually quicker. It may just be that he's fresh and not hurt like he was at the end of the season. regardless I like what i'm seeing from MB so far this year.

Fletch is right: If he says he's good to go, you have to trust him. He's a vet and will probably be out there sparingly. It's obvious Felix is banged up already too.(Austin took last 2 kickoffs) Not injured mind you: but banged up. So the T.Choice fan club should rejoice because I look for him to get 20+ carries on Sun. Barber 6-10 and Felix his usual 5ish with some passes into the flat and kickoffs if healthy. ( I like Austin returning KO's anyway: I think they should just let him do it: especially after Jones' careless fumble)

No way, no how Felix is 100%. I mentioned it to a friend while watching the TB game that he seemed to missing some quickness/speed, and he showed it again during the Giants game (the fumbled kickoff, then the run where he got caught by 2 guys). I don't know if it's a mental thing or something related to the toe injury from last year, but he clearly doesn't look the same to me as last year.

They would be silly to play Barber. The way he fell.. you could see the pain. Plus, Choice and Jones are both 100%. Why rush him back? Let the vet sit the bench for a game or two.

You could also see that he popped up afterwards and walked off the field without help. It looked like a severe cramp more than anything else. Quad strains can linger but they usually arent as bad as hamstring pulls/strains. If he pushes himself this week and feels good stopping and starting he should be good to go like he says.

It is football season and during the football season, football players play. If he is not injured he should play.

I agree with the not 100% thing b/c no one is truly 100% once the games start but Felix isnt missing any speed. He is still blazing when he gets a hole to run through. I think his kickoffs are suffering (slightly) b/c he is used to a wedge to give him a crease. Aside from that, when he gets a lane he hits it hard and defenders angles of pursuit still get totally screwed up. When he hits his top gear he still looks like the fastest guy on the field.

he has the burst still, but it seems to my eye his top end speed is a little off what I saw last year. He got caught from behind on his longest run last game, and I was surprised to see it.

I know he isn't chriss johnson fast, but I thought he was faster than that.

he was cramping up in that game. you could tell he wasn't right by how slow he got up after the tackle. he also got caught from behind plenty of times in college. very few backs have that kind of speed anymore because dbs are so fast these days. only Chris Johnson and Peterson have that kind of speed off the top my my head.
