I'm liking Barber more and more. JJ is better. You really need to have a home run threat getting 20 plus carries. Barber is no home run threat. I admit as of late he's been a more effective runner. I feel a whole lot more confident with him getting all can out of a play. He runs harder. Much more power.

I've come to the conclusion that Barber needs to be our 3rd down back. I mean all third downs. 3rd and 1 for his power and finishing ability. Third and long for his both his pass blocking and recieving skills.

That's really the solution. It maximizes thier skills and keeps both of them fresh.

More stupid threads. Fix something that ain't broke and ignore what is. typical madden morons.

Hey Moron.....the Cowboys are getting killed early....who is the running back early??? He is not the only problem....but to ignore the fact this team is consistently getting whupped early in games tells me SOMETHING needs to be done.

What would it hurt to play Barber in the first series or two?? What.... are you afraid it's going to hurt JJ's feelings????

You probably were against starting Romo because the "vet" is the only way the Boys would have a chance this year.

Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever read here.

But it's from a canadian so it's not surprising.

guys, I know it was bad never having a back who could average 4 yards per carry, for awhile, but I think we should just 'settle' for Julius averaging that, instead of 5, ok?

I think Bill should use some of that same logic he applied to the Bledsoe/Romo decision with Jones/Barber.

Bledsoe obviously had the bigger arm, and the proven experience, but the offense just clicked better under Romo.

Julius is obviously faster than Barber, and has his fair share of 100 yard games, but something about Barber, he does better after that first hit, has better vision, just seems to make more yards from nothing.

Having said that, I'm not on the "replace Jujo with Barber bandwagon" nearly as much as I was the "replace Bledsoe with Romo bandwagon." Running back is a whole nutha scenario. Lot of backups backs look like stars when they aren't having to carry the load. "What do backing up Emmitt mean?"

I am not a anti JJ guy, in fact I like him alot. However this team needs a fire lit under it and Marion Barber can help supply it.
Not saying to bench Julius, but I think allowing MB3 to come out rolling over people in the first quarter would help set the tone and give this team a much needed boost. You can rotate the two after the first quarter.
Jones is a nice back, he can have moments of brilliance, but he seems to go down way to easily and plays with little fire. It's that kind of passive culture which needs to be changed in my humble opinion.

That might not be such a bad idea switching the roles around. I like that idea of how he could set a tone in the first half. And then on the flip side, perhaps JJ's elusive quickness would be something that could literally freeze those tiring d-players up in the 2nd half of the game.

Barber doesnt get as many carries... obviously... be statistically he is ahead of Julius.... I know there is more to it... like can he carry as much as JJ or when gameplanned against can he still be as productive.... just throwing this out there...

MBIII gets 1 yard per carry more than JJ....

Rushing
MBIII - 59 Att 309 Yds 5.2 Avg
JuJo - 165 Att 689 Yds 4.2 Avg

Receiving
MBIII - 11 catches 135 Yds 12.3 Avg
JuJo - 3 catches 86 Yds 28.7 Avg

seems we us MBIII more in the passing game
