Bargain in shopping D tackles

The Jones boys bargain shopping DT at the last moment is a big reason this defense is soft. Go back and watch how bad they were blown off the line. Jordan Phillips should never see the field again. He was completely manhandled one on one all day. Pushed back 10 yards on one of the TD's. When you have atrocious d tackles then nothing else matters on defense. Micah and Diggs are useless so why pay them? Until the Jones boys understand how important the line of scrimmage is on defense expect to see a soft Cowboys defense when they get punched in the mouth.
Everything starts in the trenches. It's not sexy, but that is where is starts. It is unfortunate that we have an Owner/GM 35+ years who can not comprehend this.

It’s going to take a high pick in the draft to find the answer at DT.

David Irving barely turned 31 last month. I bet he can show up and play better than the old DTs the Cowboys recently signed and currently are not playing good.

Dang Osa got super pancaked lol I mean feet off the ground. Lawd.
Like I was saying...Parsons can say it wasn't the players fault....but it sure looks like the players fault to me. No excuse to get beat that bad.

Lack of DT's is a problem, but all these outside zone runs at Parsons has killed this team for years. He never sets the edge and always gets caught up in the wash. Linebackers also struggle to get off blocks. There is a problem when you see corners needing to make the tackle.

I guess even those here who were blindly believing this team was better than last year have finally discarded their rose colored glasses and see the reality of the situation. This is at best a .500 team and that’s only because they play in this awful division. Led by a sorry GM, a sorry HC and a sorry QB . A triple whammy.

Solid teams are built from the inside out.

Marketable players/jersey sellers tend to rank from the outside in, position wise.

Jerry has his stamp all over teams that can’t win in the trenches.

They continue to remain in denial, and the yes men they surround themselves with certainly aren’t going to speak up.

I honestly think Phillips got benched in the 2nd half.....but no one is confirming that. He was that bad. I would cut him immediately.
He should be cut this week. He just is a huge liability. You can call up a practice squad d-lineman that would do better.

Bingo. Jerrah loves himself the flash marketing players like Micah. Football will always be about who controls the line of scrimmage. And I don't mean to put down Micah he is a great player that has to be used correctly but if I'm building a team I start up front before I break the bank on a player like Micah.

Been saying this forever! This front office just does not value the interior of our defense. They love building outside in instead of inside out. We only value DBs and DEs. But those guys are useless when teams just pound the ball down our throats. Long drives that take a lot of energy out of our defense. SF did it a lot in the playoff game in 2023. Sure, they didn't score a ton of points but they dominated our defense when it mattered. GB and the Saints did the same. Bullied us up front.

When you ignore the interior of your defense and go cheap, lesser skilled players, you are prone to get dominated on the ground. Also, our only threat of a pass rush is from the edge. QBs can read this threat the easiest and can step up. We can't pressure the QB up the middle at all. This is the pressure that bothers QBs the most because they can't step up at all. If you can pressure the QB up the middle and clog/stop the run, your defense will usually be good. But nope, we neglect this aspect of our defense and pay for it when it matters year after year. Maddening.

Campbell has a good team. He’s probably what’s holding it back.
Disagree. Although he has made some questionable decisions, he has been at the head of a turnaround for a team that hadn't won a playoff game since 1991.....and his Lion just went to the NFC championship game last season and almost won

This team has taken on his identity and is ascending....straight up.
