I think we need to take a look at the possible free agent defensive ends for 2017.
Are you looking at anyone specifically? Are there some good ones out there for the taking? I'm just looking for one who can get by without a toke during the season.

The list of free agent DE is depressing this year. Jabaal Sheard is the best 4-3 DE available or their a bunch of aged old Stars on their last legs like Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, and the one I wouldn't mind bringing back Demarcus Ware.

The only name that immediately comes to mind is Jason Pierre-Paul.

I love Ware, but I wouldn't touch him unless he was dirt cheap. He's breaking down, has to be managed, and misses far too much time. And given his track record, I think 4-3 defensive end only increases the chances of him getting hurt.

Pierre-Paul will be out there too, depending on how much they want to spend.

Jabaal Sheard it is lol. Their is Andre Branch from the Dolphins as well but Sheard seems to be more consistent pass rusher.

He has like 1.5 sacks on the year. Jack Crawford is having a better year.

True, but he's among the league leaders in quarterback hurries and I think he's been a highly disruptive player. Unfortunately, he'll never be the player he was before his accident.

Would be a great addition. I was hoping we could have pulled off a trade with Miami for Wake but evidently not. We need just one more good rushing DE on the front 4 and I would take at least 2 more young LB's in the draft.

I think cornerback is a need as well, especially depending on what they do with Claiborne and Carr.

Definitely. I would have no problem going all defense in the 2017 draft.

Well we still have to go best available in the draft, especially since we will probably be drafting low.

We do need a guy though, impact player on D, and I don't think he just has to be a DE. No reason to get desperate and overpay like the Giants did.

We have to look at whats out there, who we can logically get for a reasonable contract thats for what they are worth.

Zach Cunningham would be the big get at Linebacker. Can play all 3 spots and Dominate at all 3. McMillan out of Ohio State is a good traditional 4-3 Mike. Very strong and able to shed big blockers, good Blitzer, Solid in coverage. Jarrad Davis out of Florida. Little undersized but he plays much bigger then his actual size.

Wow, Randy, thanks! Will keep my eyes open for these youngsters. Post more, man, you just got a new follower :)

He is a master at breaking through the point of attack, even with the unfortunate hand incident. He isn't getting the flashy sacks, but he's more disruptive than any of our OL minus maybe McClain (given McClain's position) and Tank.

We may be able to get him for around 6-7aav, but that's probly wishful thinking. He may also progress as he learns to play with his unfortunate handicap. He was a Cowboy killer, he'd be great here for the right price, Stash.

Conversely, I'd be willing to trade picks to 'go get' a quality pass rusher if the opportunity presented itself. I'd prefer that over the draft 'not falling for us' as happened this year regarding Ogbah or Kevin Dodd.
