Um, Bradford got hurt in the BYU game. And OU had the lead when he did.
Bradford got hurt with a few seconds left in the 1st half. The score was 7-7 when he got hurt. Okla. kicked a FG with 2 seconds left to make it 10-7 going into halftime.

OU's defense would donkey stomp any of those club footed offenses. Hell USC's pathetic *** defense shut down Ohio State.
You just keep thinking that. OK.

Oh, I don't think that there is any question that they could beat all 5 of those teams. Now, if you said all 5 consecutively, that might be a bit of a problem but then again, none of the other 4 teams (Iowa, Cincy, TCU and Boise St.) could make the claim that they would have a realistic chance of winning all 5 games IMO. Only Texas and the winner of Fla/Bama, IMO, could be considered good enough to do that.
Good point...and that to me is why a playoff gets you the most deserving winner. They say that a playoff is an argument for the smaller schools to have a title shot--and I agree--but while those schools can often pull off a one game upset, they would have a very tough time ever pulling 3-4 upsets in a row vs top ranked teams to win a tourney.

To me, that is why Texas lost at Texas Tech last year (and as a result got left out of the title game). Tech was the 3rd highly ranked teamthey had played in a row....that wears you down. The SEC last year and the year before was kind of vicious....it was nearly impossible to run the table with some of those back-to-back-to back games.

I agree fact is anyone who played Boise state schedule would not get much consideration

No. 16 Oregon W 19-8 1-0 (0-0)
Miami (OH) W 48-0 2-0 (0-0)
at Fresno State W 51-34 3-0 (1-0)
at Bowling Green W 49-14 4-0 (1-0)
UC Davis W 34-16 5-0 (1-0)
at Tulsa W 28-21 6-0 (1-0)
at Hawaii W 54-9 7-0 (2-0)
San Jose State W 45-7 8-0 (3-0)
at Louisiana Tech 8:00 PM ET Tickets
Idaho 3:30 PM ET Tickets
at Utah State 9:30 PM ET Tickets
Nevada TBA Tickets
New Mexico State 3:00 PM ET Tickets

Hell if Texas, Florida or Alabama played that schedule they would be expect not just to win but win big. Texas has a game this week vs as UCF and if they don't roll all over UCF it could cost them the #2 spot.

IMO, Texas has no chance of keeping #2 unless Bama or Florida lose. If all three teams win, no matter the scores, Texas will fall to #3.

Not unless you're willing to tell them that their conference isn't part of the BCS.
Actually, now that you mention it, BSU's and TCU's conferences aren't fully part of the BCS. Oh sure, teams from those conferences can gain entry to the BCS, but the conferences are not automatic qualifiers.

Even though the Big East is a joke, they are part of the BCS autmoatic bid so at least Cincy would have a semi-legitimate complaint. Iowa would have a serious beef.

The biggest argument against the BCS has always been if you have 5+ undefeated teams, regardless of where those teams came from.
Not really. If 2 of those teams are powerhouses, and the other 3 are from crap conferences, no one would care. The biggest argument against the BCS has been 3 undefeated teams all from major conferences, which I believe has happened once - 5 years ago when an undefeated Auburn got left out in the cold.

Just because you keep saying it over and over and are obsessed with having the last word don't make it true. No one cares about undefeated MWC, WAC or MAC teams.

All I'm hearing is "well obviously these other teams aren't as good as Texas or Florida/Alabama." And that's exactly the point that Theogt and other are trying to say.

With 5 undefeated teams, we're just going to end up saying Team X and Team Y are better, so they will play for all the marbles. Then you have a bunch of teams that all they did was win all the games they had yet have no opportunity to prove themselves as the best. That's the best argument for a playoff system that there is.

Also, to the point of "schedule better opponents"... that type of argument works for the Utah's of the world, but doesn't work for Iowa, the Big East teams, or for Boise, who have actually tried to schedule tougher opponents, even on the road, but have found it hard to convince people.
If TX and AL/FL are the only undefeated teams from BCS conferences, no one is going to care about TCU or BSU - even if both of them are undefeated.

Now it's impossible this year to have 5 undefeated teams unless at least 3 of them are from BCS conferences. And yes, that will raise some problems (moreso with IA than Cincy).
