Bears cheated

Dirty players. That said, based on where it was presnap, I bet it's still a first down by the nose of the ball regardless.

The embarassing part is that the line judge is looking RIGHT AT IT.

With 54 seconds remaining before the half the Refs call a timeout for a measurement. The Bears are about a foot away from a first down. When the Bears break the huddle they go and line up on the ball. At this point the center cleverly moves the ball forward about a foot. At this point the ball is beyond the first down marker without even snapping the ball. Cutler then recieves the snap and dives forward for a 6 inch gain. If the Bears hadn't cheated and moved the ball forward a foot the Bears would have been short of a first down by six inches.

I saw it.

True, but while there is not 11 refs to watch everyone, there is always one watching the QB in drop back situations, and the ref simply missed the call.

I think my point was clear, calls are missed in every game played, and it usually goes both ways.

Yeah, usually. But the Bears got away with two blatant blocks in the back on punt returns deep in their own territory, while we got nailed with that one when we had good field position on the drive that led to Roy's fumble.

I'll give the refs this, they almost always call us for something we did. It's the no-calls for fouls committed against us that are driving me crazy.

That's a fair statement. :)

Even though it's been pointed out, people keep focusing on the ball and not the illegal formation.

The ball gets moved by the Center all the time, and the officials, particularly in this case, went right along with it (see the official on the sideline standing at the first down marker, not the line of scrimmage).

But the even more clear error is the non-call on the illegal formation.

#87 was held, damn near tackled and it's easy to see.
Not really, no.

You'll never see that called as a hold.

Caught red handed by "Big Brother" eye in the sky.
Here they are sharing a laugh.
