Beck offered to Cowboys?

I like the idea of getting a guy a few years removed from being a high pick who just doesn't happen to be of the liking of new management. I especially like the idea of getting a young guy to groom as a long-term backup.

At the same time, if we were to go with just Beck (Bollinger is irrelevant to this discussion), I'd hope we also had a veteran backup ahead of him. He's too unproven, in my mind, to rely solely upon as our guy behind Romo.

I also dislike the idea of getting rid of Henry the same offseason we unload Pacman. Our depth at corner would go from solid to zilch.

This is the last year of his contract and they don't plan to re-sign him so it would be getting something for nothing. Henry is a Todd Bowles favorite.

Then they should trade him for a Draft Pick and not a 2-3rd string QB.

I understand it's a highlight film, but he played in a passing Conference in the NCAA and has good tools.

He's an Arizona kid, so I like him. I've been reading about him since he was in HS here. Seems like a good kid.

Ken Hamlin at SS will not be pretty. He takes poor angles and tries to avoid taking on RBs. As a result, he misses them, and they keep running. He's looked pathetic on several runs during the last two years. I'm not too thrilled at playing Henry at FS. He can't cover the deep post. How is he going to cover the deep half or play the high, single safety?

Exactly! Theres no need for Henry on this team..he cant play safety or CB. Thats why the cowboys are going to draft Sean Smith to take care of that.

Still not necessarily sold on him. but if there's a better guy available who has a skillset similar to Romo's, I'd sure like to see him.

Alright so your saying the guy has talent then. I really know nothing about the guy and he really has not played a lick in the NFL yet.

Well judging by the video Beck has very good mobility, no quams about his arm strength but not so sure on his decision making since it didn't seem like those defenses in the reel were overly complicated. He definitely needs to learn how to bait a corner, maybe he has.

He made some nice throws and seems pretty darn accurate on the run. A lot of Romo's athletic make up. Questions though.

Can he start in a pinch and win 2 out of 3 if need be?

I know Romo is our franchise QB and I think he's top 3 when he's focused. But would this kids presence give Romo a little training camp competition? That "I want to get better to become a starter also in this league some day" competition?

Or that Troy Aikman - Jason Garrett comaderie?

How bout a JT O'Sullivan? He could start in a pinch and seemed to have decent enough mobility. Also played in a similar offense. I believe he will be availabe. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that account.
