You're way late on this one, and the comparison isn't flattering.

yeah I thought I seen that somewhere.Hostile;2607151 said:He'll be 28 in August.

Trading the pick is like trading away the possibility of another Scandrick, while trading Henry is adding a young QB with some experience at the expense of an older DB with deteriorating skills.
BrAinPaiNt;2606330 said:Let's just say when Jerry gets drunk he calls certain numbers that charge by the minute and talks with someone named Hostella.
theebs;2606455 said:agreed and mickey spagnola has already said he talked to people that think hamlin might go to ss and henry to free safety.
So exactly why would we give up henry? I dont get giving up henry at all. He is a good player, people obsess over his contract, Well I would rather have him for the final year and play him at corner and safety than have a third string qb.
Now, having said that I am all for getting a couple of young qbs here, as I have been for about 3 years now. But I wouldnt move henry for one. Especially with all the losers in this locker room, henry is one of the remaining good people.
bbgun;2606640 said:BJ was undeniably bad, but do they really wanna go with someone as raw as Beck as the backup? Or maybe they envision him as the #3 guy (in 2009, at least).
iRoot4Losers;2607872 said:raw? dude is going to be old as Romo next year
TheCount;2606772 said:Chances are if we lose Romo again next year, Beck wouldn't be much better than Brad was but if we lose Newman, at least Henry has experience.
I don't know that Beck has done anything to deserve all the faith you're willing to put in him. He was outplayed by Cleo Lemon on that crappy Dolphins team.
Beck was supposed to be a 3 - 5th round pick, the fact that he got drafted early doesn't mean he's good.
FuzzyLumpkins;2607873 said:Personally I would rather start Beck and not know what I will get rather then go with BJ and knowing how bad he sucks.
The pun was unintentional.
iRoot4Losers;2607883 said:honestly, do you really thing Beck won't suck?
FuzzyLumpkins;2607885 said:I haven't seen him play a single game. Have you?
iRoot4Losers;2607877 said:trading a veteran would be the stupidest thing imaginable, winning teams keep their vets who can still play, although Henry shouldn't be a starter
esp. trading one for someone who will probably be a better missionary than NFL QB
I turn down every BP fielded trade-offer, from here on out if I'm Jerry
iRoot4Losers;2607888 said:nope, but I haven't heard any positives about him
Chris in SoCal;2607889 said:even if that reserve has a $5.6 million cap hit?
FuzzyLumpkins;2607890 said:I really haven't heard anything either way. I at least know that Johnson sucks. The worst you can get with Beck is that he will suck too.
Its hard to be as bad as Johnson was and make an NFL roster.
iRoot4Losers;2607895 said:fair enough
sometimes it's best to let an unknown remain an unknown, esp. if he's a young outcast
bring in John Beck, but don't make him your primary backup, and esp. don't trade a vet for him
