Been on the road all day...

The biggest reason to doubt the suicide story: TO simply loves himself far to much to off himself like that

Unless I have a reason to be skeptical, I don't waste my time being skeptical for the sake of being skeptical.

Just so you guys didn't get that, Adam says he isn't skeptical. ;)

Wow. Not a skeptical bone in your body. .

The whole thing is wierd, but at the same time I know two different people who had the unfortunate experience of having their stomachs pumped.... to say niether of them were in a smiley, happy mood hours later would be an understatement and they definitely wouldnt have been out running routes and catching passes in the same time frame

The thing that no one is mentioning.....except for me.....unless I missed it buried in post #528........

Is that TO had reaction the pain killers LAST WEEK around this time and it made him sick.

Per BP during his PC day or two after TO broke his hand.

Why wouldn't the same/similar medicine do the same thing a week later?

How about that one for the skeptics?

Can someone give me the 411 in a nutshell?

Sorry, but it's too much searching/reading through 700 threads. I don't need details, just a rough explanation.

Thanks.

One day after working out with the Dolphins, Drew Henson signed to Vikings practice squad. This should allow him to keep his options open.

I am pretty sure the medication was switched after the other made him sick. I don't think this is the same medicine. Even if it ws the difference is the additional suppliments he was taking or mistakenly taking to much of the pain killers.

Owens had a bad reaction to his pain medication and supplements last night. His publicist became concerned and called 9-1-1. He was taken to the hospital and released this morning. The police mistook it for a suicide attempt, possibly because of answers Owens gave while semi-incoherent. But there was no suicide attempt, or Owens would have been kept at the hospital for observation for 72 hours. The police observations (not a formal report) were leaked to the media, which ran with it and created a giant circus. Owens was all smiles at his news conference, denied attempting suicide, played catch with Bledsoe and Romo today, expects to practice Thursday and hopes to play Sunday. The media are still going crazy over it. The end.

You never cease to amaze me.

That was down right ... pithy. :D

Remember when we were told Keith Davis was dead??

This is journalism in that grand tradition...

Well done, Adam... clear and concise, and it covered all the bases...

It wasn't as FUNNY as the other responses, but it was probably what Rack was lookin' for...

Wow. Not a skeptical bone in your body. Are you working for TO these days, Adam? Because your synopsis is virtually indistinguishable from his version of today's events.

"Nothing to see here folks. Move along."

Rack, the truth is that we don't know what went down at TO's residence and may never know because the crucial witnesses are not objective bystanders. I'll believe the police before I believe that ****** publicist. Suicide attempt? Accident? Cry for help? We're all agnostics, and the case is very much open.

Never mind that there is no evidence to support your little conspiracy theory, or that common sense tends to back up Adam's take...

I'm guessing you WANT this to be some juicy, scandalous episode...

Hey, I'm a TO hater too, but even I quickly recognized this "story" didn't pass the sniff test...

You have no idea how profoundly bizarre it feels, finding myself feeling sorry for the guy...

Personally, I'm rather skeptical about that claim...

Thanks a lot, Fellas. I'm caught up now.

I'm happy, disappointed, annoyed, and upset... all at the same time.

And tuna, here's some advice for you....

If you are a mind reader, you know exactly what I just told you to do.

Since this is little more than TO-approved propagada, let's attempt a more truthful re-write:

Owens allegedly had a bad reaction to his pain medication and supplements last night. We have no proof that he consumed supplements of any kind. His publicist became concerned and called 9-1-1. When the police arrived, she told them that TO was depressed and prevented him from ingesting more pain pills. TO was asked if he was depressed or intended to harm himself and he answered in the affirmative. The police have not concluded if TO was incoherent or impaired in any way when he answered their queries. He was taken to the hospital and released this morning. It is not known if hospital personnel spoke to police before TO's release. Nor is it likely they knew of his history of mental illness (see Mortensen, Banks, and the latest Dr. Z column). The police logically classified the incident as a possible suicide attempt, and the media accurately conveyed their suspicions. The police observations (not a formal report) were leaked to the media, which ran with it and created a giant circus. Owens, ever the showman, was all smiles at his news conference, denied attempting suicide, then sent his woefully unprepared publicist before the cameras to face the onslaught. She proceeded to defame the police and accuse them of inventing quotes attributed to her. The media are still going crazy over it, as well they should. Not the end.

Your forgot the part where it was concluded that Owens did NOT attempt suicide, which is why he was released this morning. You must enjoy skimming over known facts and latching onto unsubstantiated speculation. Never mind that some of your statements are completely false.

And you're assuming that they had all relevant information at their disposal. Did they speak to the officers who responded to the distress call or just members of Team TO? Was it a case of celebrity favoritism? Wouldn't be the first time.

I wouldn't trust a police report to be completely accurate. About 6 years ago at an old job, I was held up at gunpoint, and after repeating my story to the police several times, there were several errors in the police report. The officers were taking notes on the scene when they were talking to me, and I noticed them making errors in their notes, and corrected them, but the errors still ended up in the report. Police are very fallible, they're human.
