I do think other teams do a small amount of this. What surprises me is the BLATANT disregard to league policy by the Pats. The freakin NFL sent out the memo before the season started saying that you CANNOT do what the Pats did.

It takes BIG/LARGE/BRASS one's to allow your spy to go film the other team in the 1st opening game.

HUGE ones.

The bad thing is the Pats knew the league was aware of all the shananigans they were doing. Teams were reporting the oddities. I am just thankful the NFL caught them in the act and exposed them for all to see.

so you are saying that if teams knew they could put a camera person on the opponent's sidelines and get some advantage that they wouldn't? that it was only the Pats that figured this out?

Come on. You know that is BS.

I'm saying I dont' want to start a witch-hunt

Do you think that Vick and his lawyers are all over this leniency in regards to no suspension when it comes to Vick and his attempt at getting back into league?

Will they try and say that his time in jail was time served for suspension. Will they try to get only a year total suspension?
I don't know man.... it's something they'll probably think about, but whether they actually address this with the Commish is another story.

They're trying to make a big play on this contrition angle, and if they were to go to the Commish and say, "yeah but you only gave Belichick x," then it sounds like they're not as remorseful as he has seemed to be so far. It also would seem like he's not owning up to his mistakes.

Goodell seems to be big on remorse. he wants others to feel it... as long as they're players doing unsavory things off the field.

They're completely different situations. It's not easy to compare them. But my $.02, Belichick's actions no doubt are more detrimental to the perception of the league, no question.

If there was one, you'd have about 10 1st round picks and a bunch of REALLY high 2nds then.

They could work it into a combo deal WITH the contrition angle.
Vick is sorry, he has learned blah blah blah... then Commish says, ok 2 years... but Commish, Bullicheat didnt get anything and he affected the integrity of the game?

So how do folks see the Pats now?

Exposed as video cheaters. The head coach and organization is fined for the maximum allowed. They will make the play-offs and lose that 1st round pick. That is a big deal for any ball club. I don't care who you are.

So after all of this. After all the information we know right now about BB and the Pats.

Are those SB titles tainted? Do they stack up to how you feel about the Dallas dynasty of old?

Take the homer out of this and really think about it.

Those Pat teams were STACKED w/ talent. They could beat just about anyone at anytime.

Still - why cheat? What was the cheating buying you? Did you only use the information if games were going to be to close to call?

How would you feel if you were BB? I mean all we are seeing from the BSPN spin crew is "Everyone does it".

Well it doesn't seem that way or there would be recent stories of all of these clubs really trying to peep the other team.

For me its black and white. The Patriot Super Bowl runs are tainted. They have to be now. There is doubt. At least w/ me.

I love the bizarro logic elucidated by some on this forum. => is the symbol for implies:

One team cheats and gets caught => multiple teams cheat.

I didn't use the word sovereign, you did. I said both hurt the NFL but what Vick did was worse in my mind and that is my opinion. Even if it doesn't "work" for you.

And as far as being "outside the NFL" that is rubbish but something i'd expect from a lawyer. Vick lost millions because companies thought what he did hurt the NFL and their businesses. Why is that if it wasn't bad for the NFL? Why were Vick jerseys pulled? Because what he did was such a huge boone for the NFL? The NFL is about a lot more than what goes on on the field. The NFL is a game, it's a business and it's a way of life in this country. If you think cheating on some signals sends a worse message about the men in the NFL as opposed to pitting dogs against each other then killing them when it's over, i feel real bad for your parents for failing so badly. And obviously the NFL agrees with me. Now you can play the "just because i'm in the minority doesn't mean i'm wrong" card.
The sponsors fired Vick because it was a black eye on them.

The jerseys were pulled because it was a black eye on Vick. Ya think their overall jersey sales have dropped dramatically?

Belichick and the Pats actions are a direct indictment of the ON THE FIELD product that the NFL is putting forth. There is suspicion about the integrity of the league as a whole. Most people think that there have to be other teams who have been trying to cheat.

Do you think that most people believe that there are many other NFL players who are running dog fighting kennels?

And if you think some off the field incident speaks more about the integrity of the game than actually cheating while playing said game, then I feel sorry that you didn't get a better edumacation in the Dakotas.

IMO, what will be telling is how the patsie's will go from here without the benefit of knowing the defensive plays. If they tank, it will futher prove they were benefiting from cheating.

Gawd, if you didn't already dislike anthing from New England...

Well, according to Abersonc, you're a dumb blowhard who has had too much to drink.:lmao2:

Seriously, though, I agree with you. Think back to how the Cheatriots won those SB's. Close scores throughout the game and then on the last drive (or close to it) Brady is able to move the ball down the field with ease to get in field goal range for Vinnetary (sp). After 3 quarters of digesting the other teams defensive signals it's not beyond the realm of immagination to think they knew, at that critical moment, what the defense was going to do.

1 player has been caught dog-fighting

1 coach has been caught cheating

btw, you don't think criminal players impacts people's thoughts on the integrity of the game in a big way?

Let me try to put it to you this way...

Let's say for the sake of argument that all 53 players on the Patriots were involved in Belichick's dog fighting operation. If that were the case, would you have more of a suspicion that many more NFL players an other teams were involved in dog fighting? Would you be suspicious of more players/teams if that were the case, or if only one person on the team was involved?

Now let's say that all 53 players on the Pats knew that Belichick and their team was cheating. I don't think that is a stretch AT ALL. In fact, I believe that is the case. I think that more people in the organization were involved or knew about it than didn't. Are you more suspicious of other players and teams now than you would be if it were JUST Belichick doing this?

Now tell me which is a bigger black eye ON THE LEAGUE. I don't care about what is a bigger black eye on the perpetrator. I only want to know out of the actions of Vick (1 out of 1700 players in the league) versus the actions of the Patriots (53 of the 1700, plus coaches, front office, and the owner), which one speaks more to the integrity of the league and of the game of football.

Do you not understand the difference between the "integrity of the game", and the "integrity of the players who play said game"?

I'm still waiting for an ex-player to come out and spill the beans about how serious this was. Everyone on the team had to know about it, now who is going to be the pissed off scrub that got cut and wants his name all over the media?
