The next team they had better start watching is the Commanders.

If all they're going to do is take away draft picks, that's the one team with literally nothing to lose.

“If you’re a player, you’d hate to think your team would even do this kind of thing,” he said. “It’s disheartening. You think you just dominated a team, but wait a minute, we’re stealing signs. I have a hard time believing that’s the reason they were winning games. It just seems like such an unnecessary avenue to pursue.”

Many of their games were last second wins, and they seemed to never have a problem moving the ball with efficiency their last drives... the drives they needed most...

It's not like the Patriots crush everybody... they just seem to 'find' a way to win.. convenient way I might add...

what's strange is that it took so long for this to finally blow through... I guess the former Patriots players only reveal the truth when their at the losing end...

It would be dumb to flaunt your knowledge- its too obvious. But use it only when you need to, like to come from behind or stop someone from coming from behind- that would be the way to go.

that is the same mode of thinking I had... you can't make it look obvious... I mean seriously..

best overtime record in the NFL, longest post season win streak, heck, one of his post season losses was because he threw against Champ Bailey, one guy who can make any QB pay... he moved the ball to the goal-line with relative ease.

When they are against the wall, all of the sudden they seem to make the right calls to move efficiently...

I predict that the Patriots organization will be fined and at worst have a second day pick stripped. I'm not saying this fair or unfair, I just don't think the punishment will be nearly as severe as most on this forum predicts it will be.

If Belichick isnt suspended for a longer period then Wade Wilson was then we all know the NFL is rigged. I am serious. Which was worse. Cheating in a way that effected the outcome of games and also thumbing your nose at the rules or taking steroids/HGH for a supposed medical condition by a coach that in no way effected the outcome of anything that happened on the field of play?

I say Belichick gets at least 5 games... looses at least one high draft choice and gets a big fine also.

At minimum for the MEDIA, the need to push an agenda, just like they do for Barry Bonds... The credibility of the Patriots dynasty has to now be continuously be marked with questions... It is not something that should be forgotten because Bill serves some trivial suspension...

Heck, even Bellichek never challenged the claim, but simply said the issue was with 'interpretation' of the rules. That is flat-out admitting it.

Goodell's in a tight spot. Fans of 31 teams are screaming for a major punishment so a somewhat minor penalty, say a second and fifth round pick forfeiture, is going to have those fans calling preferential treatment.

The other popular penalty floating around online is the suspension of Little Bill. That along with a few picks would probably placate most fans but it's already Wednesday afternoon. If he ultimately decides on a suspension, he'd almost have to make that decision quickly. If Belicheat gets suspended but it doesn't take effect until after the Chargers game, people again will cry about the perceived preferential treatment the Patriots are getting.

That San Diego game is coming down as one of the most important in Patriots history. They need to win and they need to play very well in the second half or everyone's really going to question their recent past. There's not going to be enough polish on the planet to remove the tarnish. Of course no one but Dallas fans seem to care that San Fransisco bought themselves a Super Bowl by circumventing the cap but that was before the huge surge in message boards and sites like PFT always looking for a story to beat to death.

I think the best analogy I've seen regarding this fiasco involves poker. This is like the Patriots sitting at the final table and being the only one able to see the other player's hole cards. They wouldn't win every hand thanks to how the flop fell but they'd have a distinct advantage over the long haul.

I think the most damning bit of evidence about how this may have helped the Patriots is last year's AFC championship game. Patriots were up big then, contrary to their history of quality second half adjustments, they fell apart. I doubt it was a coincidence that it was the first time someone ever banned all cameramen from the field like the Colts did.

I still say the refs cheated on that one. Deion Sanders clearly held Michael Irvin after he was beaten on that deep route. It was right in fron of the face of the referee. Irvin would have scored, and the momentum had already clearly turned in Dallas' favor. The only thing that could have stopped Dallas was time.

Good point, though Caldwell staright dropped two passes right in his hands. But still, defensively the Colts had no trouble scoring and moving the chains.

i would take the Patriots 1st day draft picks for the next 4 years and suspend Belichick 4 games with him having no contact with his team. if he does have contact with his team during that month then he gets suspended another 4 games! send a message to the Pats and to the NFL that this most not happen again!

Good analogy.. makes sense, too.

Wonder if Tomlin is so vocal about the Pats situation because something happened last year when Brady torched his Vikings defense on Monday Night Football? In hindsight you have to wonder. Brady was almost perfect that night.

I still predict nothing happens to the pats ..... other than maybe the loss of a late round draft pick.

They are the Media Darlings.

Can't happen. The NFL understands that the integrity of the league is perpetually in the balance but now more than ever thanks to the scandals of MLB and the NBA and then Vick.

I think the Brady baby drama has taken a little luster off the Patriots. What started as gossip page material escalated to the front page. Add Moss, a player that the media has never had problems taking shots at, and you finally have a recipe for some media cracks. Overall, most of the media is weak but they're like a pack of sharks. Once they smell blood, the feeding frenzy starts. The Brady deal was the first sign that the Patriots can bleed.

Wishful thinking, but I bet the Pats just get a slap on the wrist. JMO.

They are the Media Darlings.
This could potentially be the biggest scandel in sports history.

1) Bill Belicheck and the Patriots convicted of cheating

2) Pete Rose betting-on-baseball scandal

3) 1919 Black Sox

4) SMU Football receives the "death penalty"

5) Tim Donaghy- NBA Referee Gambling Scandal

8) Barry Bonds- The tainted home run scandal

6) College basketball point-shaving scandal

7) Skategate , starring Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan

I don't know if it tops the list, cleverusername. It's up there, but some of those were pretty damning.

I know, I was just thowing it up there for dramatic effect. :D

The list is really not an any order. But I would say if found guilty, and to what degree, it could be up there.

I think it is a akin to Barry Bonds + Steroids. Lots of people probably do it, and no doubt it helped, but not enough for a lifetime ban or something like that. Just enough for everyone to loathe Belichek.

," Kraft told reporters at a charity appearance Tuesday. "When you're successful in anything, a lot of people like to try to take you down and do different things. We understand that.

What a total load of crap Kraft you fat little toad. Gets caught red handed and tries to pass it off as "someone trying to take them down"
