Believe we are going to see Moore/Nussmeier and Zimmer or Harris

If they do not replace the OL coach we'll be drafting in the top 5 next year.
Coaches are important. They're not nearly as important as talent. You can have a meh coach and still be successful with excellent players. The converse is not true, or at least, rarely has ever been.

Pete Carroll as the head coach with Robert Soleil is the defensive coordinator
Hiring a guy who made his name as a DC to HC... and... DC to DC???

Hard sell. Not seeing that.

And especially not seeing that in view of a culture where OC is, right now (it can swing every few years), given so much more emphasis/admiration.

Unless this is just affirmation of what I'd already suggested (Carroll hired to HC now to mentor Witten who is the anointed next HC)... not sure what it means. Clarification?
Yes, I meant bridge to Witten from Carroll

They're all possible and I've already wrote this in another response to you there's nothing wrong with Pete Carroll everyone thought Mike McCarthy was washed up overrated and the Cowboys could have done better in 2020 and in fact Mike McCarthy was the best hire in 2020 we have all the results are in and by a long he was far more successful than any other hire in 2020 those guys were all gone within three years and none of them did a damn thing even close to what Mike McCarthy did so everyone gets worried about these hires and somehow Jerry Jones made the right decision in 2020.

Pete Carroll along with maybe a good defensive coordinator like Robert Soleil this this whole Robert slay interview may not just be for head coach it could also be to get a feel for what he'd be as a defensive coordinator and what would he be accepting of a defensive coordinator position and then you find the best offensive coordinator I don't see how this would be a big problem everybody who thinks he's these coordinators these hot shots high on everyone list they can't bring those rosters with them they can't bring their current head coach with them do you think they're going to bring all that success with them?.

Look in my opinion it's all a crapshoot it's high risk you hope it works out I don't care who you hire it could end up being a failure a success or somewhere in the middle Mike McCarthy was in the middle he was actually the best hire in 2020 and I hope whatever staff we get is equally as successful or better that's all we can hope for as a fan base we can sit here and have all these discussions all you want none of it has any truth to it until it does.....
Carroll checks all the boxes and should be in consideration-experienced, Super Bowl former HC.

That's what I'm saying, I'm not worried at this point of the hiring process, and the names popping up, because in the end I believe Jerry's list has some names like this on it, as a parachute ,as a fall back like we can always do this if his original idea doesn't workout...

That's always a positive thing is there are going to be a fall back plan there are coaches like him ready to come in and do this job and probably do it just as well as Mike McCarthy maybe with the right coordinators up front instead of making a mistake with Mike Nolan and that was a Mike McCarthy hire instead of making a mistake and making yourself a coordinator when you see it's not working out and don't fire yourself maybe this time it's right from the beginning , successful..

Now I choose not to believe you this is all a process and whoever we get we get all the rhetoric and opinions on who might be here and who we might end up with is just ridiculous right now it's so all over the place they're just now setting up interviews but there's a list on Twitter with josina Anderson said that they've made more calls than you think that she's had talks with Jerry and the people that he's trying to align schedules with other coaching candidates to get it together then there are booked official interviews that are being leaked out to us there's a whole lot more been going on behind the scenes she says he's not as far behind as people think in this hiring process he's got his candidates he's been speaking to people and I hate to break it to the fan base you think they're entitled to to every piece of information in real time like they need to be part of this process and they know what's going on you're not entitled to anything we'll know when we know...

You want my opinion there also have dark horse list I think it could be Pete Carroll as the head coach with Robert Soleil is the defensive coordinator and they'll bring in one of their old coordinators for the offense and they'll build a new roster I mean would that be the worst staff ever?

I remember when you all sat here and said Mike McCarthy is a yes man and it won't work and that there were so many other options and some of you thought Ron Rivera was a better option and guess what in 2020 in fact Mike McCarthy was the best hire all the teams made their choices and Jerry made his and Mike McCarthy turns out to have the best success out of all of them and I mean there's a gap by far he was the best hire in 2020...

It always confuses me you guys with the whole yes man thing and the retreads you know the whole league does that right that Mike McCarthy was no longer wanted here by Jerry and now there's two to three other teams that are setting up interviews with him and Ron Rivera by the way the Chicago Bears actually interviewed Ron Rivera you wanna talk about being hypocrites this fan base thinks that Jerry hires yes man but when other teams hire the same retread the same older coaching carousel that is a bad thing and then it's a yes man when he's here but it's not a yes man when he's elsewhere?!!

It gets on my nerves people in here wanted Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh both of which did not have better records or success than Mike McCarthy it's very close but they're all retreads they're all older veteran coaches being passed around the league but you want Jerry to pay more for those guys to have parallel success than them getting a discount for Mike McCarthy is a bad thing I mean why shouldn't we get paid Mike McCarthy 15,000,000 to do the same thing he did for 5 million and still not get us where we needed to go it makes no sense you guys think that money is attached to good decisions and that makes them better choices and in fact it's not.

So in 2020 Jerry made the right decision and maybe a guy like Pete Carroll will be the parachute higher much like Mike McCarthy and it could end up being successful we don't know but hiring some young up and coming coordinator that can't bring all his players and roster with him you think those guys are gonna be more successful than Pete Carroll you know this for a fact?

So we all have our list we all have our opinions but none of them are actual facts they're going through the process and other than us having rumor mill discussions none of it is true until it is...

.
Last time they did a HC search they didn't want a young coordinator type as they felt Garrett had to learn on the job with growing pains. They wanted an experienced HC with an successful track record, MM certainly fit the bill. MM success in this league is just as good if not better then Sean Payton. Similar success with a hall of fame QB leading their teams. I expect a similar critera this time around along with coaches they have a history with. Do not think we are going to see a 1st time HC, unless it is a prior relationship like Kellen or Sanders. Pete Carroll checks all the boxes and should be a legitimate target, especially if they want to eventually bridge Witten to take over in a few seasons.

I see it and just because Pete Carroll might have an idea of what a defense he wants looks like doesn't mean he wouldn't be a walk around coach and allow Robert Saleigh to do his job and they will find a good offensive coordinator..... I'm sorry that you don't envision it but I can... We're just all slinging ideas around and you don't have to like it...

The fact is I've read that that combination has been talked about that it's a strong possibility it could happen... I mean Bill Belichick was a strong defensive minded coach but he still hired a strong defensive minded coordinator who by the way got jobs later at that position..

It does happen. It's no different than Mike McCarthy having been both a walk around and an offensive coordinator hiring a strong offensive coordinator..

I can't see how you don't envision it because I do I see it all the time it just takes guys with less ego and wanting success the important part is putting together a staff that's all working together in One Direction and don't need the credit...

The Cowboys appear not to want to start over from scratch, but rather move ahead with this current group of players, more of a retool then a rebuild. I believe they don't want to bring in a completely new system, which is why both Kellen Moore/Doug Nussmeier make a ton of sense. Dak not only has a good relationship with both, but he knows their offensive system/language. This isn't the direction I would go, but appears pointed in that direction.

As for defense, I think it's Zimmer's job if he wants to continue coaching, if he does retire, I fully expect Al Harris to get promoted. He has put in his time and has earned the promotion. Being around Quinn/Zimmer will help him put together a similar scheme with concepts from both.
Do you have a source for this or is it just a hunch?

Wow, this does kinda align with the blow it up narrative. Makes sense. If true. My feeling has been, going back to the GB loss, that this team would be dismantled, staff included. I believe this is the plan all along. I give Jerry some credit for it, even if I disagree on how he did it. He should have fired everyone on the staff including MM and DQ after the way we lost the GB game. He waited a year too long. I guess better late than never. Now we must get these hires right. I do think they will try to trade Micah.
He damn sure should fired the whole staff after that Green Bay lose. Jerry alway a day late and a million short.

Broaddus says he is not hearing good things about Al Harris inside the Star. The former Bears coach, Eberflus, to be part of Kellen’s staff. Goodness I hope someone from outside the organization gets the job like Saleh.
Wasn't Eberflus highly thought about when he was with the Cowboys? I recall a lot of people highly touting him as a potential HC.

If the Cowboys' front office doesn't think highly of Al Harris, I wish him the best in his next endeavor. He’s a talented secondary coach, and I’m confident he’ll land on his feet and continue to grow in his coaching career.

Moore/ Harris would be my bet. I think Zimmer retires. I think Harris is ready. Working with two different styles of D has been goid for him I think. Moore and Jerry have a goid relatiobship and every OC or DC wants to be a HC. This is his chance. Jerry has always liked him

I actually tend to believe Zimmer and al Harris may have philosophical differences per secondary...Zimmer more conservative, Harris more aggressive per INT...but that's just me...

It tends to say something that the club had Harris as asst. HC instead of Zimmer, maybe that's a role title to preserve Harris, but shows a high value for him...

But Harris wants to go, does not get an offer for DC ehere, I can see him gone as he's a FA.

I don't like hearing a DC saying its uncertain and looking at options to lead to think he could be gone instead of admission that he'd love to return.

Maybe Zimmer himself in just one year has grown tired of the drama and politics in the Jones land as well...

I believe that is the most likely scenario.

I think Zimmer to deciding if he wants to continue to coach or not. Losing his son has really affected him.

Harris could very well join MM wherever he lands.

Personally, I rather see a brand new coaching staff not coaches that have been here before or have former Cowboy ties.

Well, we didn't hear good things about a lot of people inside that cult. Very few honest or contrary opinions allowed in that building. L. Ron. Jerry doesn't like free thinkers.

This is based on my own opinion on their prior decisions. Nothing has been reported outside of wanting to interview Moore which the Eagles have green lighted.

I would hate the Carroll hire, especially if he puts a good staff together. He did have a great run with the Seahawks.
