Can't blame a guy for wanting to better himself whether he's being entirely realistic in his thinking or otherwise.

It should be interesting to follow his progress (or the lack of same) to see if he finally becomes a starter or not.

#93 is good. Gardner is one of the pups I am looking for to take a big step forward this camp and play a major role in the DL rotation. I know he hasn't proven anything yet and was a 7th round pick, but had a season ending pectoral injury which hurt his chances, probably would have been a mid round pick. Has a great motor, instints, smart, disruptive and can put pressure from the inside----probably does this better than coming around the edge Oh, and he also plays with a mean streak.

The guy was all Pac 12--first team as a 5th year senior. Not known much is that he was the DE that perhaps helped teammate OLB Trent Murphy lead the nation in sacks. Murphy was taken in the 2nd round by the skins. And guess what number Murphy was---yep, #93. So the man has skills, just needs to be healthy in camp to display them.

He played DE a lot in college but also 3 tech so hes pretty versatile

Honestly, I'm ready to see a youngster take over at LDE and have hopes he'll develop into a winner.

Good catch.

It's time to move on from Spencer, I think.

Hope he becomes the new savior to wear Kelly Green in Philadelphia. The Eagles are going to explode learning all the Cowboys' plays

Would have been nice to keep him for depth and an early season starter. Ironically, Spencer's reaction to Hardy seems reminiscent of Ellis' reaction to Spencer.

RS, just make sure your tattoo is spelled correctly... "Later Loser" with an "s" and not a "z".

Cant wait to see this guy on the field. He was my pet cat months before the draft last season. I think he could offer a lot of versatility along the line.

Ben 'Micro-Head' Gardener. Ben 'the Tick' Gardener.

Is it just meet, or does that look like a youth helmet in that pick there?

It's not just you.

I love his effort tenacity and all that. I watched a few games of him from Stanford but dear goodness is he a t. rex.

Sharing a number with another player, as is the case here since Spencer is also listed as # 93, spells doom for both guys IMO. There are several others sharing numbers this offseason: 43, 56, 58 and 93, and I dont expect any of those guys to make the team.

Keith Smith doesn't even wear #43 anymore, nor is he a safety. He wore #57 when he was activated from the practice squad as a backup OLB.

OK, he won't make it with 57 or 43. He's just too slow and too small for LB.

Not disagreeing, but random factoid time: LBs can wear numbers in the 40 this year.

Not sure why all the Spencer hate.
He played here last year on the vet min and helped us in the playoffs.

He isn't a starter but he would be good depth. He is a plus run stuffer.
Based on his playoff performance I think he is getting better farther out from surgery.

Hate he doesn't see this as place to make himself some cash as a rusher opposite Hardy but he is definitely behind Mincey and Hardy day 1. Also likely DLaw.

Gardner has lots of upside, hopefully he takes off like Crawford has.
