Does he? He is the OC, not the HC. He may see what Campbell has and does, or if Campbell does not have those things. It could be extras that he wants.
He may not find that with any team. As he would have a GM and an owner to answer too.
certainly knows more about how things work in the NFL than you do. Right?

For someone who's never been a headcoach at any level, he sure has alot of demands. Money/control/accountability now
Yeah but hes also in a position where he really doesn't need a job which is the best position to negotiate from, even more so than experience. Worst case he doesn't get what he is looking for and goes back to a super bowl contender in Detroit that is loaded with good players on offense. Same thing DQ did until he got the situation he wanted.

I can't blame the guy for not settling for less than what he considers a real good spot. How many coordinators have we seen take a 1st time head coaching job in a terrible, no win situation and get fired in 3 years.....never to be considered again as a head coach.

"Two, he wants what Breer called "organizational alignment between the GM and the head coach.''

"And three, per Breer, "He’ll be looking for recognition from the organization of the things that have gone wrong, and a willingness to fix them.”

Might as well count him out!! He wants accountability
IF and that's a big if any of this is true, it's for the three teams that have already fired their coach and/or any others who have not made the playoffs over the last few years ( Giants, Jets, Saints, Bears, Browns, Jags). I don't see this as having anything to do with Jerry and the Cowboys at all.

That's fine and dandy, but to KNOW his level of expectations is telling about the kind of guy he is. He could have said anything, but you've never heard these kinds of comments from a coach, you'd think he's a Bill B. a couch that's been in the league for millions of years and has had success in the league. Coming from the team you just mentioned where he's doing well, why would he want to come to chaos, he's letting it be known. It's speculation, hell he may be about to sign a 4 year extension to stay there
You are assuming a lot of things though. It's the middle of a successful season for him and he likely wants the Lions players and front office to not be thinking about him leaving.

He cannot say he is not interested in any other jobs and if he says, "I'll think about that after the season", like most coaches do, it will simply inspire sports writers and media commentators to publish a lot more stories as well as make sure he is included in every potential team's head coaching search, including during the current season.

I suspect that when the season is over and teams contact him, he will factor in a lot of things, not just "control", into his decision process. Those could be things like money per year, contract years, location/cost-of-living, draft picks available, existing star players, salary cap available, etc.

I never put any weight into what players, coaches, etc. who are under contract say about their next contract/signing while they are already under contract.

Nothing they say matters until they are available and in most cases, their public comments and tone will change considerably once that happens.

Not an assumption just going by what he's saying. There's nothing wrong at all with him saying how he feels. I don't want you to think i'm defending him because I want him to be the coach or something, doesn't matter if it's him or someone else at this point. Jerry's going to do what he wants, hell MM might be our coach for the next how many seasons!!

So you don't think that Jerry has mismanaged a lot of things recently???

My guess is he’s been shown a lot of interest and will have his pick of openings.

Ben will not be a Cowboy. 99% sure he wouldn't accept an interview here. 95% sure they wouldn't reach out to him anyway.

Sure he has but his team has also won a lot of games..........
As stated, if it's true, speaking to the teams with upcoming vacancies that have had little or no success even after firing 1-2 coaches over the last 5-10 years.
Personally, I am not that impressed with Ben. Game plans are easy with the talent they have.....plus he's only been an OC for two years.
