Isn't the Raven's DC guy supposed to be a D guru? How are the Seahawks feeling it so far? Give any descent OC the roster of Detroit and they would look like a genius as well

He's a good dc but it's easy to look good when you work for the harbaughs and have the talent he had at michigan and in Baltimore.

I could OC the Lions with those weapons. Let's be honest: bring Johnson here and see what he can do with this garbage. I am pretty sure the results would change..... It doesn't mean he is any less of an OC, but he certainly has taken advantage of what he's been gifted in tools

I really like ben Johnson i think he's a very bright offensive mind but your right he has a lot of talent. I do think he deserves credit for what he's done with Goff. No one saw this coming.

Folks have to understand that no hot coaching candidate is ever getting hired here for several reasons which have been discussed to death. Jane Slater did a good job kind summarizing everything on Voch's podcast with Broaddus. When/if McCarthy is fired, you'll get another older retread who is desperate for another job.
And they don't pay their assistance coaches well either. Yet we wonder why they aren't coached properly.

North Carolina pays Mack Brown more than the Cowboys pay Mike McCarthy. Brown is 73 years old. Likely coaching his last year. UNC will pay Johnson more than $8 million per season to get their program moving forward again. If NFL teams are not comfortable with the salary Ben Johnson is looking for they should hire someone else.
Don’t know where you’ve been but proven big school college coaches that can maneuver through the recruitment process have been getting paid higher on average than NFL for quite awhile. I’d doubt they drop that type of money of a coach whoose 1 yr in college was as a TE coach in 2011! Big difference between trying to run a business and getting donors to open check books!

Donors would pony up to get him. The point is Johnson will have a variety of opportunities which translates to significant compensation. The organization that secures his services will have to pay, a lot. He had no issue cancelling an interview with the Commanders to remain the OC of the Lions.

Jerry Jones seethes across the table from cheapskate Mike Brown, thinking that he's holding back the chance at greater revenues. Meanwhile he probably has pictures of Mike Brown in the office with heart shaped frames around them thinking of how he does his budget.

Just goes to show you get what you pay for…Jerry found MM in the bargain bin and MM is coaching like it.
Jerry has to make a bold hire at head coach to get this franchise back on track; this team can’t be fixed by adding a player or two; it has to be razed and rebuilt.
I think Jerry is too close to the team and has lost all objectivity and thus incapable of making the tough decisions that will need to be made.
