Well, none of us have won 2 super bowls, and taken 18 different teams to the playoffs, so.....

Not sayin it's right, I'm just sayin.

I dunno...it's a pretty much "What have you done for me lately league"

And even Parcells himself would not allow a player to glide on past reputation.

But you're probably right.

hensons potential isn't worth the losing he would produce, we need to draft a qb this year, let him sit for a year then throw him in

By all means let's not limit it to 2 years, Parcells has been here 3. Again, im just taking a swing at thing and naming guys who the jury is really out on. Below are guys who range from projects to legitamate franchise QBs, which of course everyone has their own defintion of what a franchise QB is.

2003 Draft
--Byron Leftwhich 1st Round
--Rex Grossman 1st Round
--Kyle Bohler 1st (yes, the jury is still out on him)
--Chris Simms (Yeah Yeah Yeah...would not have Witten but hey, just taking a swing, if you can spend a 3rd rounder on Henson...why not this guy...I remember Mel Kiper saying this was a steal in the 3rd round)

2004 Draft
--JP Losman (he was chosen 22nd in the 1st Round)
--Matt Shaub (graded pretty nicely by some experts and would look better wearing a star then Peterman imo, which both were available in the 3rd round..the rest is history)
--Luke McCown (If you can have Romo on your roster, why not pick this guy up in the 4th round)

Im not touching the 2005 Draft, that was just stellar of a draft....

Again, I dont think any of these guys are 20/20 guys and sure hits. All had some draft analyst talking about them and again, if you can use a 3rd Rounder on Henson and have Romeo the Clown on your squad, then all of these guys were viable in my opinion. Heck, I dont even know what round he was drafted, but I wouldnt have cared if they picked Adrian Mcpherson up and tried him out....

I can do a list like this for every position. Just let me know which one you want, lol. Hindsight is always 20/20.

A guy that hacks me off is David Givens who I liked alot and he didn't get picked until round 7.

Dallas has decided that Romo and Henson are the developmental guys. Henson was rated more highly his final collegiate season than anyone on your lists. He can't be written off yet. Just as Schaub and so many of those guys can't be assumed to even be decent.

The 2 guys who played yesterday from your list played poorly. Simms and Leftwich. Their teams scored a combined 13 points.

Instead of going backwards lets go forward. Who do you want the Boys to go after this off-season via free agency or the draft?

Very Simple - Due to Parcells being 65 yrs old next season he has refused and continues to refuse to bite the bullet and either draft a young QB or go with a young QB we can acquire or already have. Dollar Bill continues to try and shortcut the NFL breeding cycle....he got lucky with Vinny in 98' and went to the AFC Title game and that has gone to his head...
So we didn't have a young QB in 2004,2005 or next season 2006. And if we don't win next season with Bledsoe we can be looking at a stretch of 4-5 more seasons of losing as we wait ot groom a young QB after finally admitting we have to.

Worried.

OK, we get it, you hate Parcells, giving him an extension was a mistake of enormous proportions, this is the extension version of the Herschel Walker trade, Jerry is an idiot for doing it, we're doomed, THE SKY IS FALLING!!

but good God dude, do we need this many posts about it started by you?

As I stated in my original Post, this is not Hindset 20/20, every guy I mentioned were very viable options...not somebody you steal in the 5th - 7th Round, all the guys I chose were all 1st - 3rd Rounders. The man who started this thread asked who we could have evaluated/looked at, I provided a list.

And? I could care less what he was rated back in college. I just cant get all warm and fuzzy about what a guy did back in 1999 or 2000 or whenever the heck is was he played. 99% of the players in the NFL have talent and potential....nothing new here. Again, if you re-read my post, I stated that the jury was still out on each and everyone of these guys, but they were viable options. Guys that played straight through college and could hit the ground running in the NFL.

Really? I gurantee you BOTH of those guys are way further along than Drew Henson and have every bit as much talent. Both of those guys were making their first Playoff start, I bet if you researched it, history would be against those guys as far as making their first start and trying to ink in a W. I wish we had a young QB making their first start in the Playoffs, the experience is invaluale and New England and the Commanders, who swept us twice aren't exactly push overs. But hey, like I said, I rather be losing my first start in the the playoffs to the defending champs and one of the hostest teams in the NFL then holding a Clipboard for 2 years after failing as a Yankee prospect. I Dont understand why guys like Leftwhich and Simms have to be thrown under the bus just to prop up somebody else .

The very escence of this thread required one to look backwards. I bet 50% to 80% of the posts on this message board is debating things that have happened in the past or what will happen in the future.

This is what the man is paid 4.5 million a year for...to make decisions...

I just don't get it.

Screw up on your job...have your boss come into you and demand "What the heck were you thinking" and respond "Hey boss, 20/20 hindsight vision is really something, isn't it?" and see how long you hold that job.

Someone goes to a doctor...pays a zillion $ for a diagnosis...the doc gives the wrong diagnosis..the patient becomes ill...and when questioned by the family he says "20/20 hindsight...."

I really don't understand why some people extend a benefit of the doubt to Parcells that none of us have extended to ourselves in our daily lives...

Exactly. Parcells is a genius when things work out and it's everybody else's fault when things don't work out.

Um, a certain Jake Delhomme?

Delhomme has been great for the Panthers. But if he came here he would have sucked. He was able to be successful b/c the Panthers have a good running game and an o-line that protected him well. Plus it doesn't hurt your #s when you have a WR who turns short passes into long TDs.
