Awesome call on Townes Van Zandt. The most underrated songwriter ever.

Townes was definitely one of the greatest songwriters ever. I still remember when I first heard when Townes had passed away. A few of us got together with a couple bottles of vodka, Townes preferred drink, and played and listened to TVZ songs all night.

I'm a big John Prine fan, ... seen him 3 times at least.

Some of his lyrics are truly thought provoking.

I have liked every song in the thread.

I told you this was my era! "right up my alley" LOL

Great era for music, all types of music. I've seen John Prine a few times also, he is so good live and such a great storyteller. I don't know how anybody couldn't love John Prine!

Other favorites from the 70s (can't post videos right now)...Carole King, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon. Y'all posted some great songs, but I'm more of a soft-rock person...never got into hard-rock and metal too much.

Posting some videos of these great musicians, since I couldn't do it from the tablet at the time:

Gotta say "Daydream Believer" is just a beautiful song. Nice variety of musical instruments used throughout.

One of my top-5 songs of the '64 to '69 period.
