when I had to think about the best, most memorable Villains in movie history, there's a huge
list of really good, really vicious ones,.. but if I had to narrow it down to just 10 ?
here's what came up with.

1 Darth Vader - Star Wars
2 Joker - Dark Knight (ledger)
3 Thanos
4 Det. Alonzo Harris - Training Day (denzel)
5 Bill 'the Butcher ' Cutting - Gangs of New York
6 Anton Chigurth - No Country for Old Men
7 Hans Landa - Inglorious Baastards
8 Nicky Santoro - Casino (pesci)
9 Ordell Robbie - Jackie Brown
10 Norman Stansfield - Leon the Professional (oldman)

#1 for me is Jack Wilson, played by Jack Palance, in Shane. He was so good and happy being bad that many bad guys copied his style.

And love me some Powers Boothe in Tombstone as Curly Bill, another happy bad guy.

And how about Anthony Perkins as the original Norman Bates? He was even worse as his Momma.

And let's not forget Bruce the Shark in Jaws.

Bruce the shark? lol..so that was the Great Whites' sea name?

For their time era, Jack Nicholas as Jack in the shining. And norman Bateman in psycho were so great and creepy.
If I went further on I would have mentioned them.

Ditto for the jamaican drug lord villain
in " Marked for Death" with Steven seagal. He was really creepy merciless and ruthless.
"Who yoom fear...him or me??!!!" ...lol

Bruce huh? lol

Gen. James Matoon Scott - 7 days in May (Burt Lancaster), great to see My favourite actor playing a (sort of) villain.
The Terminator - The Terminator (Arnie), a role without too much talking, perfect for Arnie.
The Thing - The Thing (various & SFX), that Thing was scary.
Pinhead - Hellraiser (Doug Bradley), just an amazing looking character.
The Beast of Caerbannog - Monty Python and the Holy Grail (SFX), gotta love a killer Bunny.

A few others I don't think have been mentioned ...

Al Pacino as John Milton - The Devil's Advocate
Gene Hackman as Little Bill Daggett - Unforgiven
Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus - Gladiator
Richardo Montalbon as Khan - Wrath of Khan
John Vernon as Dean Wormor - Animal House
Mark Metcalf as Douglas Neidermeyer - Animal House
The Devil as the Devil - The Exorcist (it was real!)

Commodus- Gladiator was further down my list too.

Darth Vadar.

thats it.....thats the list.

maybe Jaws....either the shark or the 007 guy.

He's not kidding. Even when the movie first came out, his name was Bruce the shark.
I’m not sure I ever knew that. Pretty funny. Did Bruce the Shark show up in the credits at the end? I wonder if the snake from Anaconda, or the alligator from whatever that movie was with the giant alligator had names.
