I watched this yesterday.
Who would ever think to cast Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra in a western?
There's even a scene with the Three Stooges.
Ursula Andres in her untimate hotness.

Mackenna's Gold is a favorite of mine. My most favorite Western to watch is Tombstone. I have the Vista Series DVD set.

I want to give a shout out to the many fine TV westerns made in the 1950's and 1960's. The filmwork, sound, storylines and acting were quite good in the those TV dramas. I'm not even thinking about Gunsmoke, which everybody knows. There's a TV channel we get called GRIT that has lots of the shows I'm talking about. Check to see if you have it as a sub-channel for one of your local stations.

There Was A Crooked Man was made, in a way, to test the new boundaries of what could be in an R Rated film in 1970 after Supreme Court rulings.

High Noon
Some of the best 'synchronized' entertainment audiences will ever experience. The hour and 25 minute film is perfect for the length of apprehension felt by Gary Cooper and all the other characters, many of whom showed their true colors while the marshal stood tall. Great movie.

Glad you mentioned a comedy/Western -. Reminded me how much I enjoyed Don Knots in "The Shakiest Gun in the West" :)

Hard to argue with that list... Maybe not my exact order, but a great list nonetheless.

i love a good western comedy.
if done right....it can be very fun to watch.

Blazing Saddles, Evil Roy Slade, Shakiest Gun in the West, Wild Wild West and a Million Ways to Die in the West would among be my top Western Comedies,
and " Red Garters " and Three Amigos wouldn't be too far behind.

(Red Garters more of a musical comedy)

i've yet to see Shanhai Noon (jackie chan) Apple Dumpling Gang, Cat Ballou or City Slickers,...
... and i didn't like Support Your Local Sheriff .
:p

Thanks, I could have easily made that list much longer. I was raised on Western movies and TV shows. When I was barely old enough to talk I would beg my mom to but the TV on "big belly" which is what I thought the western TV show "The Big Valley" was called. lol

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Butch Cassidy
The Revenant are my top 3.

Some may consider The Revenant too recent to put that high, and I understand. But as a filmmaker, it was one of the most impressive films I’ve ever seen. As far as cinematography and directing go, it’s an all time great in my opinion.
