I don't think there's ever been a Cowboy who was dual-enrolled in Harvard and MIT.

We don't have any Cowboys, but Eastern New Mexico University did send Pro Bowl DE Michael Sinclair to the Seahawks in the 1990s.

2009 was the best year ever for UConn in the draft. They were right there with the very best programs w/ guys in the 1st two rounds....nice.

Yup, the only school to have more players drafted in the first two rounds was USC. We're used to seeing our basketball program put out players to the NBA on a very consistent basis, now its the football program's turn.

We've got some serious players on defense this year as well who will be future NFL players.

Now if the Big East would just let ECU join them in football or more....

They would contend in football each year and dominate in baseball. They'd also do well in track and other sports....but they have a long way to go in hoops.

The worst: Derrick Lassic
The greatest: George Teague

The University of Alabama

Actually, that's almost the whole list anyway :)

Lassic better than Tony Dixon?

Dude that SO does not count. :lmao2:

Snob!

I had to go with somebody so I went with that one.

Just for the record, MOST people didn't go to college in my era. They got jobs, and worked to support their families. Very few of the people I grew up with went to college and even fewer graduated. Only 4 of the 50 kids on my block, between the ages of my older and younger brothers (a 12 year span) got degrees. I'm not one of them but my older brother is. The other 3 were all nearer my little brother's age (6 years younger than me).

I'm glad you grew up in an era and an area where you could go to college and I hope you actually have done something with your education, most of those I know with degrees have never done anything with it except use the piece of paper to secure a job in an unrelated field.

Lassic: 3.6 yard rushing average over his the two NFL games he ever played to go along with 2 fumbles. That is just pathetic. Watching him run for those two terrible games showed Jerry that Emmitt was worth every penny he was asking for during his hold out.

Dixon: Only 4 seasons, but was at least serviceable enough to start 15 games--plus he did have 3 sacks if I remember right his last year.

There is no comparrison, Lassic was just horrible to watch, and made me miss Emmitt ever more (and I had high hopes for Lassic after his Sugar Bowl efforts!)

Chuck Norris graduated from my high school... but then so did ESPN's Chris Mortensen so they almost cancel each other out. :lmao2:

Just doggin you THUMP...it's all in good fun. Also, for some reason it didn't register that you were older than me...because I'm pretty long in the tooth myself. :)

I have fully used my education so at least that part worked out.

Baylor University:

1. Thomas Everett- All Pro Starting Safety in Two Super Bowls
2. Ron Francis- Landry era nickel corner.
3. Robert Williams- Special teamer blocked punt for touchdown in 1992 Super season.
4. Lincoln Coleman- Backup to Emmitt Smith in 1993 who played in snow against Miami.
5. Kelvin Garmon- Starting guard on terrible early 2000s Cowboy teams.

Best Baylor Bears in the NFL:

1. Mike Singletary- HOF linebacker for '85 Bears.
2. Santana Dotson- All Pro Dt and SB champ with Packers.
3. Ray Crockett- Denver safety played in five Super Bowls.
4. Gary Baxter- Ravens/ Browns corner was pro bowl caliber but suffered career ending knee injuries.
5. Walter Abercrombie- pro bowl runningback for Pittsburgh
6. Daryl Gardener- DT was Jimmy Johnson's first draft pick as Dolphins head coach.
7. Vann McElroy- All pro safety for Raiders won SB ring in 1983.
8. James Francis- linebacker Jimmy Johnson targeted ahead of Emmitt Smith.
9. Reyna Thompson- Special teams pro bowler that won SB with 1990 Giants.
10. Dennis Gentry- Kick returner for the '85 Bears and member of the Super bowl Shuffle.
11. Gerald McNeil- Pro Bowl kick returner for Browns and Oilers.
12. Cody Carlson- Oiler quarterback that replaced Warren Moon before McNair.
12. Fred Miller- Left Tackle protected Kurt Warner in 1999 Super Bowl.
13. Jason Smith- Another tackle drafted by the Rams just this year with the second pick.

Sportscaster: Trey Wingo (He covers the NFL so does this count?) :D

Fun fact, more Baylor Bears have started in Super Bowls than any other Texas university.

Sorry not to nitpick, but Fred Miller was a RT. Pace was their LT during the Super Bowl run.

A side note....Norris has some great values:

Norris created the martial art Chun Kuk Do, which is based primarily on Tang Soo Do and includes elements from every combat style he knows. Like many other martial arts, Chun Kuk Do includes a code of honor and rules to live by. These rules are from Chuck Norris's personal code. They are:
  1. I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
  2. I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
  3. I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family.
  4. I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
  5. If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
  6. I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
  7. I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.
  8. I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
  9. I will always remain loyal to God, my country, family and my friends.
  10. I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country and myself
I wish more people these days thought like that.

I don't think we had any from my college (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo), but in high school I went to school with Brock Marion.
