I would say the Cowboys defense is playing as good if not better than any defense out there. I also think this unit is improving and will get even better as we move forward.

How did the Packers get such a high def. rating? I know playing the Bears and Lions twice helped but the Packers were not bad against the Vikings. I am not afraid of GB in the playoffs. I might change that statement after I see how we play against the Eagles this weekend.

The Packer defenders got in Capers' ear and begged to be allowed to blitz more and it has worked. But that Pittsburgh game demonstrated just how weak they are in the secondary right now. They have problems at CB once you get past Woodson and A.J. Hawk is struggling as a nickel linebacker if he is not covered up.
Despite their gaudy rankings, it is a bit of an illusion. They are still only going to go as far as their offense can take them.

The gap between the way Dallas is playing right now compared to Green Bay is huge. You really could just say it is Dallas and five other defenses as they are all struggling in one way or another. What distinguishes Green Bay and Philadelphia is that they are still getting takeaways that the others are not.

Least points allowed, and in reality that is the only stat that matters.

1) They have the heaviest defensive line (lbs per player). When the Cowboys OL bumps bellys with the Packers DL, it's basically a draw
2) They have Charles Woodson, the likely DPOY, who they can put on either Witten or Miles Austin depending on how they want to play it -- I'd suspect they go with putting Woodson on Austin this time around.
3) They have one of the top safeties in football in Nick Collins (Pro-Bowl again this year) to put on Witten
4) Generally, speaking they are very stout against the run (#1 in the league I believe) and with Woodson and Collins covering Witten and Miles Austin the impetus is on Roy Williams or the Dallas #3, #4 WRs or #2 TE to make plays.
