Best Jaydon Blue Comp

Look we can all have an opinion if this is your opinion that's fine, i'll live with it,

but I disagree Harmon was used more like Debo Samuels, I don't care about their size, talk about the utilization, he was a receiver 1st in a running back 2nd....

This value is mostly at receiver especially early on in his career what he achieved as a running back was just scraps ,like yeah they used him as a running back sparingly but I don't think that's going to be the case with blue,

blue's gonna be more like Tony Pollard, I believe if you look at the way they've utilized when Kmara was the backup, the change of pace guy for Ingram, if you look at the way even going back to Reggie Bush ,and you look at most of his years not his two best years, that is who blue is or can be, his size and speed is exactly like Jamir Gibbs,

so why not use Jamir Gibbs?

Not exactly the same size 5'9 close to 200 is not the same as 5'11 200, i'd say that blue being two inches shorter he's a little thicker...

Like I said there's nothing wrong with your comps, that's what you believe but I don't believe that if you really look at Harmon's career he used like Debo Samuels more utilizes a receiver that can run the football,

I believe blue regardless of his speed and what he can offer the passing game, he will be seen as a run first guy ,who can add something in the pass game.

We'll get to figure it out over the next three years,

somebody's going to be right somebody's going to be wrong I just watched them play every game he played with the Longhorns and he can be a regular running back not a three down guy not a power back not somebody you see as an every down back, but he definitely has more than just scraps as a running back, and this all he can do is receive the football..

I get why you would see that but I think my comps are better like I said if he ever turned into Gibbs that would be awesome but I'm not using that as an expectations but he's built exactly like Gibbs same height same weight same speed I like that it doesn't have the miles but I'd rather see the way Tony Pollard was used when he was backing up a Zika Elliott and like Kamar was used when he was backing up Ingram and the way Reggie Bush was used for most of his career when he was just a change of pace guy that is who this guy is...

I'm not saying that's who he would become i'm saying that is his game is more like that....
I get that, we can disagree. If Blue lives up to any of the comps he'll be great pick.

Achane is very productive, and just like Gibbs I feel these type comps are lofty for Blue. However, I would be ecstatic if Jaydon matched any of these guys.

Achane vs Harmon, how I see it. Achane is more of a RB and has excellent RB skills, also, he has great hands. Harmon is less of a RB and more a receiver than Achane. So for me, I don't see Blue as naturally gifted RB, but more natural at receiver type duties.

Exactly! He looks a lot like Pollard on tape
I was actually asking more than telling.

From what little I know of Blue, they seem to be similar….mid round pick, not a bell cow, receiving threat…..

Anyone know about his pass blocking? That seems to be the last thing fans find out about RBs.

Its widely known about his fumbling. Defense guys gonna be in his ear about "Dont fumble." And be punching at the ball more than usual.

Blue is an exciting prospect. I can't wait to see him run. The guy can move! Folks need to go watch film of his blocking at U.T. though. He's willing, but just doesn't have the mass. This is his limitation, and the reason he was not drafted higher.
That, fumbles and size.

We shall see.

He's the same exact size as Jamyr Gibbs, what round did he go in?

i'm really curious that he's the starter behind a much better offensive line and a better offense but he don't have a problem they are the same damn player as far as their dimensions go their speed goes, they're exactly the same and somehow, we keep acting like blue is deuce or even a smaller player who can also play is turpin... Those two are actually small even though we see in Turpin he's tough as they come for his size that is not blue...

Jaydon Blue is not small his average size for a running back this is why he's not a 3 down power back he's not a 3 down back in any way where you can overuse the guy,

but he is not small in any way shape or form he's almost the size of Emmett Smith maybe 10 pounds if that, but 5 foot 9 200 pounds is not small for a running back all the running backs in his comps are about the same size..

Good thing we're not looking at him to be a three down back a work horse back a power back or a short yard is back but in the NFL there are plenty of comps that say blue is not too small....

Yes, he had some fumbles that doesn't mean he's going to do it in the N F L...WE will see..
PS games cant get here fast enough.. I'm sick and tired of all this chitchat and the underwear Olympics...lol I want to see some full speed pad popping then we can start seeing what this really looks like..

What I am hoping for is someday people will be comparing running backs to Jaydon Blue.

But I do like the Ronnie Harmon comp. As someone who vaguely remembers Ronnie Harmon.

At best, I see Blue as a high end 3rd down receiving RB a la Ronnie Harmon. I don't see Blue as a RB1 due to lack of physicality. How will Blue respond when he gets hit in the mouth during TC or preseason? Does he have the mentality to tighten his chinstrap and run hard again or is he looking to run out to the slot?

I'm not into hyping this young man up into something he's not because most times what you get in college is how he's best used in the league. So, again, I'm looking for Blue to be the next Ronnie Harmon, I belive that would a great career for him.

Harmon was 5'11 200 with 4.3 speed, same as Blue, and I see many similarities making Harmon the best comp for Blue.

Shorter and to the point video:

Thx Coach

Honestly with these stats this is best case scenario for Blue, Harmon was productive.

yeah his rushing is not really anything, best year was like 500 something rushing.
Thank you, brother. Very interesting pass receiving yards. I can see Jaydon pulling up similar receiving yards. Only difference is I do believe Jaydon Blue will far surpass 185 pass receiving yards this rookie upcoming season.

It is a big change for any college RB with great speed to adjust to the speed of the defenders in the NFL. Watching college tape of a kid speed by everyone is fun but not necessarily a clear prediction of what a guy can do in the NFL.

I really like Jaydon Blue because I think he is a weapon the Cowboys didn’t have last year - the ability to make a big play at any minute.

But Blue won’t be an every down back based on his history. He was never the leading rusher at Texas, nor did he have the most attempts. He’s a gadget, Swiss Army knife who will see 8-10 touches a game.

So on some plays you just go 12 personnel, let the virtual extra OT that is Spann-Ford devour some pressure, and simply allow Blue to be that extra receiving option out of the backfield.

Nothing against Blue but I'm hoping Javonte can return to form. He was the real deal before injury. Blue is a scat back without 3 down abilities.

Blue has the same skill set as Jamyr Gibbs.

That’s his exact comparison.
