Best Rock & Roll Song Ever?

Just so many great songs that it is hard to narrow it down to one.

I mean the idea of just the Beatles and Stones songs alone makes it hard to narrow it down to one among them.

With that said I will pick one from each and although arguments can be made for others, I just happen to like these two for whatever reason.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Sympathy for the Devil.

Oh man. That is so hard to say one is the best. Too many great, great tunes. I don`t know, I think this one would be on the short list.

It's a great tune Brain. Can't take that away.

Personally, I like BOC and Don't Fear the Reaper, Eruption by Van Halen, Stairway, Thunderstruck by AC/DC and Crazytrain. Heck, any of those would be good choices by me.

:)

Lets throw a monkey wrench in the mix. :laugh2:

no no no...One.

I like One, but it's way down the list of Metallica songs alone.

  • Enter Sandman
  • Sad But True
  • Damage Inc
  • Master of Puppets
  • Battery
  • King Nothing
  • Harvester of Sorrow
  • Fade to Black
  • Creeping Death
  • Ride The Lightning
  • Four Horsemen
I could continue, but you get the point.

  • Enter Sandman - nope
  • Sad But True - nope
  • Damage Inc - nope
  • Master of Puppets - debatable
  • Battery- nope
  • King Nothing - ***?!?
  • Harvester of Sorrow - nope
  • Fade to Black - nope
  • Creeping Death- nope
  • Ride The Lightning - nope
  • Four Horsemen - nope
I could continue, but you get the point.

I'll give you Master of Puppets (definitely best album) as a possibility, and maybe throw in And Justice For All as another debatable one, but not the others, and throwing anything post the black album on there is just crazy talk.

Nobody will probably agree with me but I think this is as good a song as I've ever heard.

I've been sitting here thinking about all the great rock music that has come out over the past 60 years, and there's just absolutely no way I can come up with one that I can say is definitely the best rock song ever.

And I think that's a good thing.

Yes it's all but impossible.

Damn Angus looked young (no pun intended) in that video :laugh2:

Yea, he kinda reminds me of the kid in "what's eating Gilbert Grape." LOL

What really cracks me up is that they look like they are just winging/improvising as they go along, yet there are a bunch of credits rolling at the end of the video.:laugh2:

Where are the lyrics? While it is a good song with good guitar playing, there are no lyrics. Rock songs must have lyrics, especially to be considered one of the greatest.
