'Better Call Saul' - Season 2

So... Saul is sticking it to Chick with his malpractice insurance.

His love for his brother is..... less than two episodes ago... one even.



Kim is entering an exit strategy.... either but getting snuffed out through a scam... or leaving him. I think the former.

What do you mean, a scam? So I guess he's trying to get them to not provide malpractice insurance, or raise his rates?
I hate to say, I thought it was another slow episode.

I don't go by slow or fast episodes anymore when watching shows. Doing so will lead you to be disappointed.

I look at the series as a whole.

Kim is about ready to give up on Jimmy with his constant scheming. She's already having second thoughts about what she helped Jimmy do to Chuck. And Hector is going to stroke out soon, apparently with some help from Nacho.

Yeah, it was. I thought it was about to start getting good once Gus came into the mix. The last two episodes have sucked.

Yeah, but when they promise there will be action, then come with two slow episodes, it's a little upsetting. How much longer do we have to watch Saul make terrible commercials?

For me character and plot development define a series, good or bad.

In this case it's not enough to give us a quick, 'look Jimmy is is having a hard time let's move the show along segment', it's the gradual building of his frustration born out of the multiple downturns in his life he experiences following the confrontations with his brother, that allow us, the viewers, to better understand his actions to come.

Because let's face it Jimmy is about to make some sort of dramatic decision that will impact his life forever and it would be a shame if we didn't get a chance to feel the buildup of frustration and angst right along with him.

I'm a patient kind of guy though, everyone's different. I'm enjoying the series.

It's true. We are seeing the "breakin bad" part of more than one character!

3 episodes left of season 3. This show is getting so close to overlapping Breaking Bad that it makes me wonder how a 4th season is even possible without showing Saul Goodman become Walter Whites attorney or Mike working for Gus.

I think Kim is ultimately going to leave in good graces with Saul, for a job in a larger city, a la New York.

As for Chuck, his illness is 100% mental/psychosomatic. It was proven without a doubt in court with the planted battery.

This show is awesome. There hasn't been a slow episode (for me), yet.

But then again, I adored Rectify. A very deliberate and slow-paced show. This is a roller coaster compared to that masterpiece.

I think it will delve into the beginnings of Saul's private practice, Kim's departure, and yes, the beginnings of Mike's/Gus's (eventual) very close relationship. Still a lot of content to explore, Star

It's incredible. Character development on this show is almost second to none in the last half decade of television. There's a strong American Gothic element to it. Beautifully shot, incredibly well acted (several of the cast members were absolutely robbed of Emmys -- such is show business when your show is on a fairly small channel [Sundance]), an absolute incredibly well-put together story. Deliberately slow-paced for the reveals and nuances.

The creator, Ray McKinnon, is a sevant of sorts. He's also known for being the Priest (who ends up with the brain tumor) in the HBO series Deadwood. Quite a jump from actor to creator of a masterpiece like Rectify.

Only four seasons, so it's not too much of a time investment, and when it's over, you're left with a hole in your life; the show takes so much out of you.

I was thinking about that.

I think that Saul has at least one(season 4).. maybe two seasons of love, loss and personal bad/poor desperate decisions.... trials and tribulations before he fully catapults into getter no to WW.

I have only watched a couple episodes of Fargo this season, Have not watched any of Better Call Saul.

Have them all recorded on DVR.

For those that have been watching both...which is better or are they both equally good or bad so far?

I ask because these two shows are similar in their pacing where it can be a slow burn show and even though you know it is good from show to show, you don't realize how good until you have seen the whole season as it plays out.

Better Call Saul has been fantastic this season, but like yourself, I haven't watched Fargo yet. I will as soon as I finish The Americans (2 episodes left). Have them DVR'd as well.

BCS hasn't had a bad episode this season. This is it's strongest season, which says a a lot for a, generally, great show
