Is Stoops finally back? This was a big-time win, maybe the second-best win in his career behind the championship. If Trevor Knight is the real deal then the Sooners may have something for the next 2 years. Knight's emergence is big because it pretty much solidifies his position as next year's starter instead of the QB battle they were going to have

That was the best possible ending for the Sooners , outside of injuries and inexperience their biggest problem was the lack of decent quarterback play and now it looks like they are poised to be contenders with A stud QB and lots of underclassmen coming back,,, oh, and beating up on the SEC's best team was kinda cool too,,, lol. Recruiting got a big lift today!

gotta admit that shocked me. Especially the way Alabama's O line got owned. 7 sacks. I knew it would not be as good as last year but had no idea OU would be able to do that well getting pressure. McCarron looked bad- but then any QB that gets a lot of pressure is going to look bad. His problem was that he had no familiarity with it. No team had EVER DARED To actually put pressure on him before.

Alabama certainly did NOT look like all that tonight.

Alabama was vastly overrated. That Bama LT couldn't ever block Striker and Saban was too proud to give him RB or TE help.

This bowl season has not been kind to pro style offenses.

All that said Henry could start for 20 NFL teams. Wow that kid is good.

OU is with the top 4or 5 next year in the Big 12 going in. It is just a deep conference.
OU loses more than most schools in the Big 12.

OU needs a better wr corps and a RB to step up. Knight looked great tonight but Bama basically threw him fastballs.

Next big star. You can already see it. I didn't realize until I looked it up last night that he broke some of Ken Hall's records. He looks vastly better than a guy like Ingram to me.

I was really impressed with OK last night. They sort of took Bama out to the woodshed.

Impressed with both offensive and defensive coaching calls during the game.
Impressed with the mental and physical toughness of the OK kids. Each time Alabama would regain the momentum, OK would get it back.
Impressed with their QB.

And this coming from someone that loves to watch Stoops lose, .. and was cheering for Alabama since Saban is a West Virginia boy.

OK normally does not show well in bowl games that I remember, .. so this was a surprise.

Did I mention that I was impressed? LOL

It will never get mentioned but Saban was flat out coached.
Had he run Henry more and helped the LT in pass pro Bama in that game.

Henry looked like that at the HS All-American game but seeing it versus college kids... Just Wow!
He is the closest thing to Jim Brown I've seen. Balance, size, speed. DL fell off him it was nothing and he outran CBs.

Boo hiss. I was disappointed. Bama just was not up to snuff last night. They definitely were outplayed.

I have to add & it means nothing but Saban either has a youth serum or the genes are good in WV. I never really noticed but he looks very young. And he's what 65?

I agree, he was outcoached, .. something I didn't think was possible from Stoops. LOL

And yes, he should have run the ball more, especially withe Henry.

Right before McCarrons first pick, after they had gone down and scored, and then got the pick from OK, ... I was saying "run it, .. run it down their throats!"

Instead they throw, and A.J. throws a bad pass and it gets picked.

If they would have gone up two scores, they could have kept running 75% of the time, and Striker would have been a non-factor, if not a liability.

I didn't want to get too crazy, but I was trying to remember the last time I saw a freshman RB that looked that good... It would have to be Peterson. And Henry is 15 pounds (at least) bigger than he was. I couldn't have been more impressed. Barring injury he has to win the Heisman, maybe even next year.

I think the big X factor in Saban getting out coached was the sudden emergence of Knight, Saban had no idea this kid was capable of such a stellar passing performance. They expected to stomp OU's offense and to be playing with a lead,,, if that had been the case their brutal running game would have been sufficient for the big win.

It helps that Henry had fresh legs. He only had 27 rushing attempts coming into the game. :D Bama look set at running back for a couple of years.
