If there was a length measurement (height + arm length), then Claiborne is the "longer" player:

It's like someone asked Parcells when he first got here. Someone asked him about LB or DE size in the 3-4 and he answered you're always looking for big fast players. I don't think he meant that for every situation but in general that's true.
You look for someone with hips that has shown he can play and preferably has some technique....good backpedal, turn and run, takes good angles, uses the proper hand and hopefully knows how to use position. All things else being equal you take the taller faster guy. You need to have a smurf or two to play other smurfs....in general and vice versa for the tall guys.
