Like Hatcher putting up big numbers in a contract year, Murray is doing the same.

Hatcher benefited from being a 3tech and Murray, a great line. Let Murray walk like Hatcher- to the Skins or Raiders.

Don't overpay for him

I would agree normally but you have to separate the special from the rest. And watching Murray run, he's special. very few backs can break tackles and make people miss and fall forward like he does. He turned so many negative or 2 yard runs into gainers in the Seahawks game. He's special. And young enough. Plus, rb are undervalued. We can get him for 4 years wo breaking the bank

Murray is putting up big numbers because the team is actually committed to the run. What did you expect to happen when his carries go from 25-30 a game from 10-15? Last yr the guy had over 1000 yrds and Dallas was 2nd to last in carries per game.

Chachi has been off the air for a very good reason. We are getting ready to face a division rival and all you have time for is to deride a Cowboy? Focus on this season, this game man. Please take your negative vibes elsewhere.

I can set my watch to his weekly anti-Murray thread. :) How's it going Alien?

What is all this about negative vibes!
Giants are in for a world of hurt.
I am stoked for the future ! Smart financial decisions are apart of that. Spend that money on R.McClain and draft an RB.
(I'm actually hitting Murray a little early this week. We set the clocks back soon, don't we?)

First off, if Hatcher was 26 I would have no problem getting him what he asked for. He was just on the wrong side of 30.

And the perception some fans of some guys.....Demarco has been doing this since DAY 1. Since he stepped on the field. Nothing has changed from him. He's a smarter back now than he was back then and doesn't take unnecessary contact but the guy has always been this good. As was Hatcher. Hatcher was just playing a different percentage. People are too stuck on statistics. If you watch these guys play they stand out to you on film. Demarco was always a good back. He's not going to fall off after a contract. Now his body could break down. That's something that should be a concern but this is who he always was.

Can we get through the freaking season and enjoy this while we can......
I know it's open topics and discussions, but how many do we need to sift through, its 6 games, and a long way to go yet.

I honestly think the 4 million on the table will be their best offer. If Murray can stay healthy and control his fumble issues, he will get good money else where. He deserves to go make that money. I would be happy to ride his great contract year to the superbowl (dare we say it so early) but still wouldn't match what he'll get. At the end of round 1 you get a great back for 5 years at much less.

Pay Bryant and McClain.
Wish Murray a great career. This Oline will make anyone a level higher.

I don't get why you would want to let Murray walk. Murray has what it takes to be great with or without an oline. The oline coupled with Murray's running skills is what makes this run game feared throughout the league.

No Murray - no 8 men in the box. No 8 men in the box means no one-on-one coverage with our receivers. Having Murray creates problems for the defenses. He provides that balance. Not any running back can do that. I can bet you most teams won't stack the LOS if Murray isn't in the game. Why do you think Randle had that big gain? Having Murray in the game causes so much problems for defenses that its gonna keep OCs up at night. Their gonna have to pick their poison.

uh- this kind of delusional thinking requires lots of Kool-Aide.

Look at his numbers during his rookie year. He averaged 5.5 yards a carry with a crappy oline. So YES he can be productive even without an Oline like we have now. Having this Oline just makes him more deadly.

Having 6 100 yard games is not a fluke. He has beaten some great running backs on the list such as OJ Simpson and Emmitt and is on pace to beat the single season rushing record - which I think he will.

Murray is flat out a very good running back that defenses are fearful of thats gonna be great behind this oline. I doubt we can just plug and anyone and see the results we see now and I wouldn't want to. You don't fix what ain't broken.

No way I would want them drafting a rb any earliar than rd 3 and personally I would not even want this years 3rd used for rb.

They need a de in the first. They need to think about a Qb a cb and depth at o line and d line before drafting a rb.

So I wouldn't pay Murray what the top rb get. But I'm not using a draft pick early on rb either.

So I would be willing to negotiate. But if Murray goes elsewhere expect a drop off in run game v

LOL. You mean history making first 6 games???? Only Jim Brown has done this EVER. And even the GREAT Jim Brown could only do it once. Go ahead make it seem like a negative.

Saying Murray will never make history again isn't going out very far on the limb is it?

His biggest year is 11oo yards. Come on. In 4 years, he never broke 1500. Let alone a dominate season. If he is so good as you say, where are the numbers?

He is a nice back but not a franchise one and certainly not one to overpay for. They won't miss him especially with this oline.
