I'm watching teams' positions right now, but it's after Thanksgiving when we'll really start to see who's a contender and who's not. Denver, of course, is going to look good. And they might actually keep it up this year. We'll have to see. But they looked completely unstoppable at this time last season, and then they got dismantled when it mattered most.

I"d have said our running game, or their edge rush are the biggest difference between the two teams, btw.

Have fun waiting to see whether Denver is a real contender or not.

Let us know.

My $0.02 is that their defense is MUCH better looking that it was last year.

Demarcus Ware, Von Viller coming back in shape (which he wasn't when he came off his suspension last year), TJ Ward, Talib, etc

Talib over a broken-down Champ Bailey is such an upgrade.

Rodgers-Cromartie was playing lights out for them last year. I mean, I hate to get ahead of myself but we would only see them in the SB and I am not too awful worried about Ware and Miller with our line. We all know Ware disappears in big games anyway. I can only think of their game in Seattle when they hadn't scored a TD through 3 quarters. I think we could control the game physically against those finesse Broncos

Unfortunately all world Mr Manning is due for his 2nd SB Trophy. Just seems like the ending to this script has already been written. IMO it would take a defense like Seattles defense of last year to wrestle it away from him, does that defense exist this year...I don't know.

I had the same thought when I was watching the refs screw over San Diego....................To keep Manning from getting his 2nd ring, somebody is going to have to beat Denver and the refs at the same time...................just saying.

Bingo, they don't even hide how they blatantly cheat during their games. You thought that crew that coached the giants game last week was bad???? You ain't seen nothing yet.

But we all know playoff manning isn't the same person as regular season manning. I don't think they make it past new england or baltimore. Belichick will have that defense all in mannings face and we'll see the manning that looks like bambi learning to walk.

Disagree with the OP. Denver still is a cute finesse team. Seattle (before we broke them) beat Denver 26-20 this year. Beast Mode had 26 carries for 88 yards - so you know it was a physical game. You know we will run the ball on them and eat up that clock. Four things:

1) We are physical on both sides of the ball. I don't think Denver wants to go toe to toe with us.
2) Our OL has propelled DM29 to at least 100 yards in 7 straight games (notable teams included Houston, San Francisco, and Seattle - who are all good against the run, collectively).
3) We have just as many weapons as Denver. Thanks to our running game, we can beat you either way.
4) I expect our defense to improve as we get healthy bodies back.

If we're healthy, I'm not afraid of anybody, including Denver.

I can't help but wonder if playing in Denver in January is the worst thing for the Broncos and that offense. If they get through that they'll be tough to take down in Arizona. It's still early but I think both the Cowboys and Packers could hang with them for different reasons but it would be a difficult chore no question.

I watched the Broncos play the Seahawks and rather like our ability to run the ball.

Wut? Brother, reading these boards must be a unique experience for you. Of course Denver's a contender as of now. But teams fall off every year after a quick start. Just like any team ever, they have to keep it up. Even the undefeated Pats in 2007 weren't as dominant late in the season. They made it to the Super Bowl, but were vulnerable when they got there.
