There were literally GB receivers with no one around them in a 15 yard radius. Over and over.

This is the only organization in the NFL that would still keep its GM after this colossal collapse. Name one team in the league that would keep the same 81 year old GM with a 4-10 play-off record since 2000.
You’re preaching to the choir my friend. There are no other teams that would keep their GM in this scenario. There will BE no other teams in the future, even in this scenario. Just the Cowboys, we’ll all be fine as long as we recognize that. While we recognize that, we must also recognize what comes along with it…..nothing…expectations as far as Super Bowl victories in the future simply do not exist, at least not for me. I’m ok with it. I have to be. In the end, it’s just a game.

Think about how many times we’ve been close enough that one fluke thing prevented us from advancing in the last 28 years. The 2007 team Jerry helped put together was good enough, he didn’t make Patrick Crayton screw up twice to send us home. The 1996 teams was good enough, he didn’t make Michael Irvin get injured. The 2014 team was good enough, he didn’t make the stupid nfl rule that robbed Bryant of an obvious catch. The 2016 team was good enough, he didn’t have anything to do with Rodgers making a once in a lifetime throw. Etc.

At some point attributing EVERYTHING to Jerry Jones just becomes incoherent and nonsensical
Well in the last almost 3 decades of playoff futility, all the different players and coaches, Jerry Jones has been the one common denominator!!

Not as long as the glitz and glamour continues. The millions of fans across the country, heck across the globe, and the need for the NFL to showcase them in countless prime-time games, it will continue trust me! And unfortunately, Jerry Jones will be fine with it, Championship or not!!
everyone roots for them to lose, i don't think the fan base of rooting for the cowboys to win is getting any bigger...that is what this post is suggesting...and as time goes on and we try to usher in new fans i don't even think old fans will tell you to be a fan of this team, i feel sorry for telling any family member to watch this team it's a curse. I'd rather be watching a bottom-tier team come up and win than a fake tier 1 team who loses every year when the expectations are high for no reason...it's a better story at this point.

This franchise won't even give us a draft pick to look forward to, just the same thing over and over again

During and after the 1-15 year, I had hope because the players showed urgency. That whole year was more palatable than this year's playoff loss. This is truly the first time in my 59 years that I am ashamed of being a Cowboys fan.

They were actually waiting for passes like punts.
Reminded me of the Moss ere where we got to watch Moss backpedal to catch passes bread basket style while 5' 6" Cowboys DBs were blindly flailing and windmilling their arms while trailing 5 yards behind.

Don't forget Calvin Johnson. I could not believe how long the camera was on the receivers before a defender showed up on the screen.

I’m old enough to have watched all 67 Cowboys playoff games. All 36 wins and all 31 losses. That was the most embarrassing loss in Cowboys history. To be trucked at home by a 9-8 #7 seed is beyond inexcusable. It’s actually what this organization has become: A lazy embarrassment when it matters most.

As I watched that colossal failure tonight unfold into a 27-0 deficit with 2:00 left in the first half, I could not help but think that there is no other team in the entire playoffs who would have stunk it up that bad at home with everything in front of them. To lay an egg of that proportion in front of millions is not only disgusting, it is gutless.

But my fellow Cowboys fans, I can guarantee you one thing: It won’t change things much at the Star. Nope. If you think Jerry Jones is as mad as we fans are or is angry enough to make major changes throughout this organization, don't get your hopes up. I will predict it right now- there will be no Bill Belechick or Jim Harbaugh “to the rescue”. Because this ship sinks every year regardless of the HC.

Since our last SB, we’ve had 6 different HCs, and 8 different OCs and DCs. And one GM who won’t change. Promise you. He will be smiling this July at his putrid “State of the Cowboys” presser in “Ox-nerd” selling sand to all us fans in this 28 year desert. And most Cowboys fans will buy it again. Oh and expect Mike McCarthy to be seated with JJ and “Giggles” next July. Because JJ likes being comfortable more than he likes to be hungry.
If nothing major changes then Jerry has lost me as a Cowboys fan. I will just simply not care next season and not be interested to watch anything. I’m 48 and I just have better things to do with my team than to watch the worst franchise in sports sit there and collect money. I will wait until Jerry dies to see if his idiot son also has a Texas size ego and wants to run everything.

I am too old to change so I will always follow the Cowboys but the way in which I follow them has changed. They are more of a science experiment to me. I watch moron Jerry do the same things year after year after year and the end result is as predictable as the tides. If you think this year was a failure to them you are crazy. The year was perfect and went exactly according to plan. We did exactly what we were built to do. We will not change anything about the way we operate. Players will continue to be treated like they are family members. Brand development is king.

The Cowboy front office as it is setup now isn't one that works with any urgency and what you see on successful teams in the NFL is the need for urgency. There is a misnomer that this team "drafts well" - well if so where exactly was that on the field yesterday? We keep saying that the game has passed so and so coach by, I'd say the game has passed our entire front office by.

Our Jonesboys front office has never been in front since 1996. There is nothing for the game to pass by in their case.

JJ and son are wearing so many hats and too involved and that is a recipe for disaster which does create a chaotic organization structure and as long as this is the way they run it nothing will ever work even if they do change coaches or players. That kind of change will just deflect the blame away from them.

Their goal is to make the playoffs. Winning doesn't matter much to the Joneses.

As somebody said on another topic, our FO probably thinks that we were THIS close of an epic comeback, that by some misfortune didn't came.

Bob there is a point where kids wont want to be Cowboys fans. I am 30, i have witnessed zero winning. My nephew who is 7 only knows the cowboys to be epic losers - any kid that age who is a fan get’s the works.

In 10 years, kids will look at the cowboys like the browns and the old fans will be dead. This is a crucial point for the franchise
Exactly..I couldn’t make my own kids cowboys fans…all the fN base Tex schraam built, Jerry is going to wipe that base off before he goes

I do think there is a point where the organization loses its mystique and it’s close. Think about it… the Cardinals and Jets have more playoff wins over the past 25 years. The Panthers have twice as many playoff wins as the Cowboys have. Titans have more. Bengals, Vikings, Falcons have more. Dallas in reality is a league bottom feeder. They are a punchline. This is all true despite the spin of the Jones family. I think this loss will be a big problem for the Jerry Jones marketing team.
